Confused over different kitchen hinge types

Guys I followed Jason's link and have the correct inset hinges now. As for laying them out, how far back from the front edge should the plates be set and how far in from the edge of the door should the 35mm holes be drilled? The doors are 18mm think, which I assume makes a difference - is...

    Weatherboard Finish

Bedec barn paint is what I used on my workshop, very happy with it. I didn't paint the back personnelly. If you ring Bedec they will tell you if painting the back is beneficial or not Mark

Confused over different kitchen hinge types

Yes the doors are inset not overlay. The doors are 18mm thick. They are the correct way round, the problem is they bind on the face frame So I need cranked hinges for this, is there a specific mounting plate that I need for this? Mark

Confused over different kitchen hinge types

Hi I am trying to change the hinges on a cupboard to kitchen style. I had some blums I was given and tried to use them but I think they are the wrong type as I cant clip the door on even when wound right out. The door is for a cupboard with a face frame, although the inside edge of the face...

Prescription Drugs - always read the leaflet

Glad to hear you are ok, scary stuff I once got a prescrition for my dog from the vet, which I had to take to the chemist. When I read the small print it said he should not drive or operate heavy machinery while taking them :) Thats him in the avatar Mark

    Holes in my flower beds

Well I have got deer wandering the scrub we back onto (beautiful in the mornings) but the rear fence is deer proof, now if only it was fox proof so they would stop shitting on my garden table... A number of people have suggested what the critter might be but with no reasoning or what I need to...

    Washing machine woes

Motor brushes. For some reason they always go during the spin cycle not the main wash, and will sometimes still work the main wash and not the spin cycle. New brushes are fairly cheap, knowing how to take it apart and put it back is another matter. If this is it will cost you about £50 I...

    Holes in my flower beds

Just done a bit more googling and it seems holes like these about a broom handle diameter are not uncommon. Seems like mice or voles are the most likely answer, they are probably too narrow for rats, though I have seen dead rats over in the fields behind our house so not totally ruling that out...

    Holes in my flower beds

Hi I actually saw these weeks ago then promptlt forgot about them. I have noticed about 4 holes in my flower beds, each about 1.5 inch across. There are in a fairly contained area. What could they be? Mice? Whatever they are should I or my plants be worried. If so how to get rid of the...

    Koi Carp Forums

Jason Why not the copper, you seem quite firm in that opinion? This http://www.pond-products.co.uk/Velda_I_Tronic_Range.htm and this http://www.pond-products.co.uk/Blanket_ ... inator.htm both add copper ions. Now don't get me wrong I think they are mega expensive but, like anything else...

    Koi Carp Forums

Jason Had a look at that, they seem a bit pro for me. I'm basically after a recommendation for a pond vac My pond is a top end goldfish pond converted into a low end Koi pond :D Concrete construction, rendered. Just drilled new holes for larger pipework and connected up much bigger filter...

    Koi Carp Forums

Hi I'm after a recommendation for a forum as there seems to be loads of them on the net. Suitable for a novice who has a small koi pond, just need to ask (or search - don't want a newbie upsetting the old guard's patience :) ) about recommendations for a couple of bits of equipment. Cheers Mark

    Police Thugs Arrest Pensioner

Smashing the windows is an approved distraction technique. Although the execution on both counts leaves a bit to be desired. In fact distraction techniques extend to hitting the person first if , in the split second they have to make the decision, they think they will otherwise be hit first...

Bench saw fence position when ripping

My riving knife is american. Its much longer than standard to keep the cut open longer. It follows the curve of the blade. It can be adjusted to within 8mm of the blade at least. It has 2 sprung sets of teeth to catch any wood kicking back. It is also 10 years old. Just want to keep the...

Bench saw fence position when ripping

I don't have any experience of table saws other than my own, nor do I have any first hand experience of short fences. However my saw has an arrangement that is never mentioned whenever this discussion occurs. It has a full length rip fence which extends about 9 inches beyond the back edge of...

    Oxalic Acid

Bob I followed Pekka's advise in this thread, though i found the stain "disolved" in minutes before my eyes. I could actually watch it and make a call when to stop it, and it was very black the staining. I didn't bother to neutralise, I just rinsed with copious amounts of water, but this was...

    Life expectancy of Domino cutters

Thanks for all the replies The picture Doug has posted is exactly the same as both mine. Clearly from the comments everyone thinks plunge speed is critical, though I think if I went much slower I'd be quicker cutting them by hand. Not really a plus point on such an expensive machine and...
