Can MR MDF ever be not green in colour?

I've been told that MR MDF comes in brown, but where I buy from it is always green. Ed

I really like this Gasman - very elegant forms. Ed

    Tearout

I keep my LAJ and BUS with that blade angle and they seem to deal with pretty much everything without tearout. Ed

Deft T30 and a dado cutter?

Looks like a really nice saw. Be interesting to see if this is the model Cisco is bringing in and what the price will be. Ed

If you need to push an Axy order over the £50

Hmm, I have a piece of flat brass with no home - I might have a go. Ed

    The Joinery Bench

I agree, I could quite happily spend ALL my time improving the workshop and tinkering about with things. I need reminders to start projects, because when I get one started I remember that this is what I actually enjoy. Ed

    The Joinery Bench

I am quite taken with the idea of this, having said that I don't really ever have an issue with using my normal bench for joinery. I mustn't once again fall into the trap of allowing shop improvements to distract from real projects though! Ed

    Ray Iles smoother

I asked the same question here; https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/ray- ... ray%20iles In the end I never progressed it, but it seems to be reasonably well thought of. Ed

Should I go or should I stay?...

    A Planer/Thicknesser I can get upstairs?

No, but it was built as a workshop by the previous owners. Fortuitously I have some steels in there which make the timber quite short spans. What I did as a check was to measure the joist sizes and spans and then check the load it would give in the joist tables in Approved Doc A of the Building...

    Sharpening - which method?

The Tormek is OK, but not the panacea to all sharpening needs. I bought one in the mistaken belief that it would do everything, but I find now I finish all my blades on diamond stones or PSA lapping film and only use the Tormek for regrinding. On this basis, it is a tremendously expensive thing...

tool steel & norris type blade adjusters

O1 is fairly readily available in my experience. Most towns have a small metal stockholder - there must be one near you Martin? Ed

    Official Secret Santa Picture Thread

The vagaries of the postal system seem to be the main issue with Secret Santa running smoothly, but its difficult to see what can be done about that. I thought about a Secret Santa Bash, where you turn up with the gift and exchange with whoever makes it there with a gift on that day. The issue...

    A Planer/Thicknesser I can get upstairs?

I managed to get my Scheppach HMS260Ci up the stairs to the workshop with the tables on. I'm in no rush to do it again though! Ed
