    Some more shop made saws

Klaus (and Pedder) - some beautiful work there. I find it extremely warming that someone from this side of the Atlantic can make quality handsaws, as I was beginning to think the Americans had the market cornered. Keep up the good work. Ed

    Air filters

I have the small Jet filter - it seems to do its job, although as said earlier in the thread, I have no real way of knowing how successful it is. My view however, is that even though I cannot define how well it works and what particle size it captures, it must be better than not doing anything...

    SOLD: various woodworking books

I opened the thread hoping for a bargain and find to my shame that I already own virtually all these books  Some good buys for someone though. Ed

    Evo-Stick Fast Foam

I wonder what its like to use part of a tube and come back to use the rest later? Thats always an issue with the normal squirty foam, as I find the rest of the can is more or less useless after the first session, as its so gunked up or the propellant is all gone. If this product solves that...

    Wood or metal lathe?

The ability to do a bit of milling, precise drilling and metal turning opens all sorts of doors to toolmaking in my view. Ed

    Wood or metal lathe?

I turn wood occasionally on my metalworking lathe. I can see the argument for not doing so due to the dust, but provided you clean up straight away its not that bad. For me, a metalworking lathe is a far more useful thing to have than a woodworking lathe and I can't justify both. Ed

    Another one gorn...

I felt a bit odd when my Kity had gone, having been with it for so many years. I overcame it once the new one arrived though. :D Ed

Bandsaw woes and Tuffcut blades mini-review

I just received a consignment of new blades from Ian today - some of the thin kerf ones and one of the Tuffcut blades. I'll post some thoughts once I've had a chance to use them. Ed

How do I cut this hole

I would never have though of doing it that way Steve - funny how the mind works, its a good solution. Ed

    Ts 200 vs Kity 419

I always assumed it was non-magnetic although I don't think I ever actually checked. Ed

    Ed's new tablesaw

Just done that modification and it sucks much better on the crown guard now. Amazing what you can do with some plumbing fittings and gaffer tape! Ed

    Xcalibur 12" table saw - it's here!

Looks very substantial Karl. I can see that being the last tablesaw you need to buy. Ed

    Ed's new tablesaw

Yes thats what my Karcher shop vac has, so I think I'll set it up like that and give it a go, just need to mackle together a connection for the 2 hoses later.... Ed

    Ed's new tablesaw

I've got the table alignment pretty good, but I expect things to settle and move a bit so I will go back and tweak it later if needed. On the extraction with my Camvac 386 on the 100mm port its not generating much suck on the crown guard, although the main extraction seems fine. I will try what...

    Ed's new tablesaw

Its a material called Regupol, which is really intended for acoustic separation between reinforced concrete slabs and screed in high rise resi blocks. There were a few sheets going begging after a job at work which came into my possession. Its 5mm thick and made of recycled car tyres, so its a...

    Ed's new tablesaw

Thats pretty much what I was going to do - I already have the bits to make the lead. Ed

    Xcalibur 12" table saw - it's here!

You're on a roll at the moment Karl. Nice work on the new saw. Ed

    Ed's new tablesaw

I only really use it for assembly, as machining is done on the bench. It may not be clear from the photos, but it does actually have an overhang of about 40mm already. The space for assembly is invaluable, I'd quite like to make it bigger, maybe one day. Ed

    Tom's Tool Chest - Finished!

No I doubt it (you don't light the fuel mind you.....) Ed

    Ed's new tablesaw

I like it clean - I can't think straight in messy and disorganised spaces. Ed
