NVR or Foot switch on router table

I am comfortable with the switch on the router table in easy reach on right hand side, which turns on the router and the vac (plugs in at the back of the table) BUT, the Rockwell table saw, late 1980's, has a very small toggle switch which I struggle to find sometimes. Having a read of the...

Agree. First check the power supply from the wall socket to the saw, where it goes into the switches. Loose wire, broken wire?

    Hegner Scroll Saw Speed Control

Frank, the answer is yes. Patience, a steady hand. The more TPI blade the quicker the ****-up. ajs reply is very valid. I tend to cut all my thin (3mm to 10mm) stuff on the small multicut. External and internal cuts. Thicker I will move to the Polycut which is belt driven and I generally run at...

    New to the scrolls

I used a #12 when cutting out the reindeer which was 3D. Worked fine as long as the block was not thicker than 50mm

    Hegner Scroll Saw Speed Control

Take lots of scrap wood of various thicknesses and just cut. Any shapes, trying different TPI blades, till you get the feeling of cutting. Do NOT push the wood into the blade, let the saw do the cutting. Try some 90 degree turns. You soon find out if you are cutting too fast, the blade then...

    bench vs. stand

Both my stands are metal. The Multicut is on a narrow stand and the bottom shelf has boxes of spare tiles for weight. It is on wheels as I am very cramped for space. It is quite high so certainly not a sit-down saw. The old Rockwell saw was on this stand, all open pulleys  The Polycut...

    First attempt at turning.

Looks very good! (my first attempt turned very expensive wood into dust!) I turned some green Rhus lancea many years ago. Off the lathe and wrapped in newspaper. Hung up in an orange string bag, Changed paper daily for 2 weeks. No splitting. Unfortunately allergic to the dust when I sanded :(
