Hi all, I've been down the shed using my Jet 1220vs, no problems performed well as always..... :) Except all of a sudden it starts spinning at full throttle and cant slow it down other than to switch it off..... :shock: Anyone else with one of these lathes had a similar experience...

I use the Hut Plastic Polish too..... :D :D :D :D and the wax 'pen' sticks..... they put a lovely smoooth finish on your work, but i wouldn't go so far as to say they put a super 'gloss' on them. 'Gloss' to me resembles that akin to varnish.... whereas these leave more a satin sheen...

I used to have a SIP chip collector in my workshop (read shed...) quite efficient, but darned irritating (read noisy...) when running all the time...... so in the end i would do exactly what you already do..... leave it switched off and scoop up the shavings when i was ankle deep in them...
