    Using cooker extractor over lathe.

But the bread will taste awful! Sorry, hat, coat

Good options for fixing to masonry fixing

I'm not sure no more nails would suffice, but a thick, strong fixative, eg those supplied in a gun-application tube. Eg Sikabond. One way is to spread the load using a piece of wood as a wall plate, then screw the tube holders onto the plate. Not to everyone's taste, but effective. Another way...

    Firewood to dish thing

I think Adam is from Dorset, but located in a warm, sunny location on the continent. (He keeps is location under wraps so we don't get jealous and go out there to hunt down him and his olive wood store 😉)

    Firewood to dish thing

Very nice, Adam. Your problem is you keep producing lovely things, so don't get the oohs and ahs you deserve each time 😁

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Me too. I've tried a large sprayer with emulsion in a room, but very mixed results and waste a lot of paint and use lots of water cleaning - how did you find that to use and clean?

    Turning Devon Minnows

Ah, gotcha. Though that would be easy to make - just a bit of hardwood gripped in the chuck, turn a parallel spigot say 2 or 3 cm long, push on the pre drilled work piece and bring up tailstock for support

    Pink anti-theft tools

We spray our tools, more for spotting them in heaps of other crud. Not lost any yet 🤞

    Anti-aging - Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

"Anti- aging" AKA "total tosh " Age is a function of time passing - guess what? Time will keep passing, however much someone spends on anti aging treatments. Maybe their skin will be more plump, or hair not grey, or man b**bs not sagging so much.... But they'll still be older and probably be...

    Turning Devon Minnows

No problem, Ross. I've learned loads from the likes of people on here, so always good to ask. I forgot to say if you make your own friction drive, you can either turn the Morse taper to suit your machine, or make one to go on the chuck - then just turn down the business end to suit your...

    Turning Devon Minnows

Drill hole first. If you want a tube in, glue one in. If not, don't - both are turn-able. I'll assume no knowledge, so don't be offended as I don't know what you know already. Tube or not, at the head stock, (motor) end, either use what's called a light pull drive...

Anyone using Paslode 1st Fix Nailer

I've got a 350+ Don't know the other model, but mine works fine. Noisy when it fires, though

Bandsaw - Laguna or Record Power

I think both have been reviewed on here. Do a search, you should find it if here

First turning in over a year!

That is lovely. Well done sir

    Sneaky Amazon

Yeah, and Amazon is a huge respecter of laws 🤣, or at least moral ones

    Lathe purchase ideas...

I've also heard good reports about the Laguna lathes, and the KS lathes Simon Hope sells - remarkable feature set for the price

    What's the Trick ???

Here you go, found the little book. Don't be fooled by the apparent old style simplicity (and the school masterly tone - it works, honest). I'll attach front and back cover, plus an inside, partly to amuse with the photo, but to show sort of exercises he suggests.

    Lathe purchase ideas...

I'd say you wasn't to try before you buy, preferably worth a real user rather than seller - no pressure, but little things might show up that would bother you, or you really like. Oh, and as heavy as possible and or ability to add weight or bolt it to the earth's core, whichever is easier...

    What's the Trick ???

I agree with all the above. Unfortunately, a lot of us who want to turn have a major character trait - impatience! That's why we'd rather spin something at 2000 rpm rather than use a hand plane. I am coming to terms with my limitations and actually stepped back from the grand projects I had in...
