Thanks to all, things settled down last night did all above apart from doing a usb upload. Cleaned out a lot of dust inside, pushed things down etc. used some more app cleaners. Smooth running this morning.

Nev if I create a usb bootable stick with memtest, does that mean if I use it to boot up I then have to upload to a clean and empty harddrive to carry on?

Got a telephone call at 8am this morning , a message (no telephone number available at 1471) and then an email the same thing (not opened) stating I have used 80% of my broadband allowance. I am virgin and do not have a fixed allowance. So what is the verdict please?
