What is the purpose of the extention in front of your chuck? Would it help stop my chuck and faceplate binding to my headstock ?

Indeed yes, Italy buy tons of Olives from Spain and rebrands the oil as a way more expensive Italian oil.... many folk have no idea what pure unfiltered Olive oil tastes like either (less that 3 months old is best) as the supermarkets insist on filtering which creates a clear golden but...

I wonder the same, Olive takes a long time to grow but there always seems to be mountains of it available, i guess tearing out diseased trees and planting new groves is a part of it, also many farmers here are reverting to planting vines and nut trees again.... could be something to do with the...

I thought that too but the instructions (swing away hinge instructions)say nothing should be under it, the bolts are high tensile and the hinge is super chunky and strong, in my case it's purpose is to keep the tailstock at a distance... Most of the time it's folded away though as my workshop...

I'm just happy i didn't end up selling it, maybe i'll have a go at making a baseball bat too :)

So I finally got around to attaching the swing away hinge and bed extension, I love it, now unless I'm turning something huge I don't have to turn the headstock away (as it always needs realignment) also it adds ballast to my cart on wheels, lots of swearing involved in attaching it but well...
