    big workshop, green ideas?

Yes and no. The bales are on a 4 - 6"plinth and are "topped off " with something known as a top plate. The plinth protects the bales from any water damage due to household leaks ; washing machine or burst piping. So, one can screw into these plates directly, or make a 2 x 3 stud...

    big workshop, green ideas?

Chems queried extension being built - timber frame - infille with SB's FIRST BALES GOING IN :) Inside view of the extension, bales in view prior to being boarded up with 18mm OSB. This does two things - seals moisture out from getting into the bales, and allows me to fix cupboards...

Table Design, Meeting Maximum Sag/Deflection Standards

seconded, I made two board room tables 3m x 1m as a torsion box of 10cm deep. I walked on them both and had 1mm deflection then I was 100kg. So a smaller torsion box say 4cm will give you sufficient strength to size imho hth K

    Sketchup Pro?

Yes, I agree , its too clunky and to have 3 screens visiblemay help but imho it helps to confuse the design process. That's why I use SU - sketching on a pc/laptop and if it comes available on a Tablet :D hth, K

Which Software do you use? Sketchup, AutoCAD or another?

Best go to DaveR's site and see the master at work. as I said, I am trying it seriously at last, the end product that I pass on to the client, can be better or in old school script - "can do better" ;) hrh, K

Which Software do you use? Sketchup, AutoCAD or another?

if you have no book or been tutored on Solid works, truthfully, forget it. It is a heavy program and not intuitive unlike SU. As a TurboCad user I found the step up/over to SU quite painless. As I am now on SU8 and through a member here, DaveR I am now trying out Layout to make presentation...

    Castors on workbench?

make sure the wheels are high quality ball bearing races and the rubber is a composite one - it grips the floor better DAMHIKT and goes over extension cables / air lines better then the solid rubber or plastic ones. hth K
