A garden project for my better half.

Thanks, hopefully inspire others to have a go at a project even if not quite as ambitious If it’s their first. It’s taken many years of sheds, wood stores and last years workshop to build up to this one. a request before I started the build due to no upright support posts available, "does that...

    New workshop

This is how it looks fitted. Texture like decently painted wood. No harder to install than timber, so anyone who would do the wood cladding can do this. Best prices are from squaredealpvc, excellent company to deal with And do superb corner profile trims.

A garden project for my better half.

Thanks Rob, it was a harder build than I’d envisaged, mainly down to doing a cut pyramid roof on my own at a pitch higher than I could comfortably walk on. 😳 one lesson learned at least.

A garden project for my better half.

The summerhouse is now all but complete, walls clad guttering put to the soak away for now, rain chain on order for the front, I can control how much water goes to rain chain and rear down pipe. Electrics all hooked up, just a couple of power points with usb chargers, string lighting inside and...

    Lawnmower and garden tools storage

If it were me, I’d definately use non permeable membrane like F1 from Screwfix, batten then clad. The cladding will definitely be letting water through at some time and membrane and batten will allow it to dry out before the damp affect the inside. Membrane will keep the inside as dry as...

    Wood Snagging on Router Fence

I have never yet achieved a decent lock joint with my bits. I do a lot of routing, and all comes out fine, never the lock joist though to the point the set of lock joint bits are all forlorn in the corner of the bits drawer.

First woodwork project - mud Kitchen

Well done Great item for a first project and looks great. Any child would love to play with that. I do second about raising the legs off the patio, even 1cm will stop the legs standing in water. It will probably need a little TLC every year. I’m experienced and the mud kitchen I made needs a...

Kinda makes sense, it’s just it had the six contacts shown connected by something marked MP in circuit.

    Pump voltage

It’s a two stage centrifugal pump. I have seen the curve chart for it, and it meant absolutely nothing to me.

    Pump voltage

Thanks Fitz when I get the tank installed ill Play with pump speed first as suggested. I do see there is some sort of torque adjustment in the VFD settings as well. I’ll leave them alone till I see effect of what I’ve got. It’ll be used to water our bowls green through a Leader 25/50 system...

    Pump voltage

Well, after the advice offered here, I purchased the pump for £25 plus £9 courier. It’s a beast at 25kg. I bought the VFD and took the connector plate off the pump terminal housing. The terminals were connected along the top row in the star arrangement. Taking the links off and putting the as...

    The realities of tool ownership...

I’m not so sure, at approx 10seconds a hole, thats 18 holes a year. I‘ll bet I drill hundreds of holes a year, but step son probably does 4 or 6 In a year. His drill will be ‘as new’ if sold in ten years time. 🙂

Front step decking in progress, dry laid to see if I need to add more supports to carry board ends. Next order of composite deck should be here next week. Should have time...

    Work Gloves Needed

These from toolstation allow smart phone usage without removing them. I buy four or five pairs at a time so I always have some in stock. Excellent gloves even using nails and hammer, they are thin but excellent grip and protection.
