    Axe

Can't recall if you do instagram? If you do have a look at Josh. @axeyankee he often shaves back the wear which allows the eye to seat on fresh timber on the old helve. Refurbish the slot and make up fresh wedge. Good old axe heads are in growing demand these days. Also for inspiration have a...

    Record 52 1/2 vice modification

Not a spring in general terms but sometimes a spring washer can be utilised. It is best to have some light pressure rather than things being sloppy. You must have a fair amount of play for it to keep happening. I'm just wondering if someone has remade the plate or it's a newer model and now just...

    Record No.52 1/2 B - Help Identifying

From your pictures it appears to me that the plate in the quick release mechanism is at odds with the rest of the vice. These have an offset hole to take the lever fixing screw. Maybe it's on the wrong way and needs flipping over. It looks like the vice wouldn't close up as it is. Cheers Andy

    Record No.52 1/2 B - Help Identifying

Very interesting Dan. I've never seen this style before. It looks like the rear jaw is lower than the front jaw so it is able to be mounted BLIND behind the apron of the bench. Cheers Andy

So glad you have been thoughtful enough to let us have a heads up on this Dan. Personally I think @nabs would be a suitable consideration for his future studies and on going reference source. Also a shoutout to @Vono Best wishes to you and your family. Cheers Andy

Fretworking & the Hobbies & Handicrafts Companies New video

Very good of you to put this out there for people to find and learn from. I have some of Hobbies products including the rarely seen hand cranked fretsaw that would be clamped to a suitable flat surface. I was lucky to also get a treadle lathe with fretsaw attachment from a lovely chap in...

    Wet Wheel Sharpening Systems.

I've just been gifted my first usable wet/dry grinder combo. Coming on for 20 years old it's an Axminster APTCDPWS. It runs beautifully and has a nice build quality about it. Talking of sparks and fires, we had a bit of a mishap when installing Magic City kids themed play zone in Clacton...

    New (old) Woodworker

Hello Dave and nice to see you're reusing the bench and rescuing a few of your Father's planes. First off if you've ever been to one of Robert Jackson's Manor Farm open days over at Sevenhampton, we might have met. I collect and put on displays of old tools and Robert's event is a regular for...
