    Replacing panels in a door

Surprised to see a reference to doors with applied mouldings not having grooves for the panels . I cannot see this being a very satisfactory technique, both in assembly method and durability of the finished door. For clarification are we talking of references to seeing previously made doors...

Pair of compasses, to hold a pencil?

Did you know that if you use any trammel with a pencil (sharpened with a pencil sharpener) the diameter can be kept precise by mounting the pencil at the same angle as the sharpener. As the pencil lead wears down the inside/outside edge of the line stays true. Cheers Andy

I wonder if a word with a local scrap merchant night bring forth some suitable reclaimed material. Depends I suppose on if you want prepared thickness or willing to rework the material. Cheers Andy

    Norris Plane ID Help

Not all NORRIS production is marked so can sometimes be difficult to say for certain. They would supply their products to the public and trade alike. All parts were available in the catalogues. If I remember correctly late production irons were often found marked NORRIS on the front and Rob`t...

The glaziers vice or lead mill, help please.

I wonder if you or anyone you know may be able to throw some (leaded) light on the operating of my latest acquisition. These tools are used to form the Lead Cames for leaded light glazing. I've seen that a lead strip (a PIG) is cast and this offered up to the rollers / guides and drawn inwards...

Do you have a No1 Millers Falls "Cigar" shave?

I'm just looking into this tool and would be pleased to hear if you have one and if it works well for you or not. A picture of the "mouth/cutter" section would be great just to make comparisons with mine and the Patent drawings. My latest example has 2 sets of threaded holes for cutter...
