Jet JWBS-16X Bandsaw - Advice please

Dave, just to give you an idea of the lowr guide assembly on the Record BS400, these photos show the easy access to the complete assembly with one hex bolt and above that, the hex bolt for the thrust bearing slider, both shown wih brush head... Malcolm

Jet JWBS-16X Bandsaw - Advice please

Im surprised at that. The whole lower bearing in the BS400 slides forward or back with one hex nut that is very accessible. You do need to be able to access that as and when needed, without the tracking, as that's a seperate issue that needs setting first, before the lower and upper bearing are...

Jet JWBS-16X Bandsaw - Advice please

Somtimes the thrust bearing adjustment is more difficult, but using a longreach 'T' hex is easy. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Eklind-Metric ... 1310887499

    Keep your voice down, please.

You can get hearing aids on the NHS. All you need do is phone them up and arrange a test. I had some years ago but unfortunately they have stopped prescribing the inner ear aids. Instead they issue the ones that have the controls behind the ear. The cheaper ones that you can buy are only...

Record Power BS350 still vibrating - any further thoughts?!

Hi Chris, I have the Record BS400 in my garage, which has a concrete floor. When I am about to use the machine, I pull it out to a suitable place, which has been determined previously by thick permanent marker outline marks. My garage floor is not 100% flat and true, I don't know one that is...

Okay. What do you do with your mountain of offcuts?

I have an additional council bin that I use just for offcuts and my son takes them to a friend every so often for his woodburner. I do also raid the bin from time to time looking for the odd bit that I need.

    Problem club members

Usually, the club is responsible for appointing committee members. Should they resign, then it is up to the remaining committee to take responsibility of those duties. Failing to do so is the remaining committee members responsibility. It does not excuse lack of documamtation of financial...

    Review of Makita LB1200F 305mm (12") Bandsaw

Thanks for the review. Nice to something new and hope you will report back once you have it tuned up and settled in. Although blades have been included, you may feel that Tuffsaw blades will be the best to switch to, but see how you go with the supplied ones first and get settled in. Good photos...

Anyone using the festool hk55 for cabinet making?

Axminster will give you an honest opinion on all the tools they sell. Festool are certainly very good indeed, but it may be overkill depending on what you intend to do in the future. A discussion should bring out the best result. The store at Nuneaton is very good so you should have a good...
