    Laminated Sheet Material Suppliers

I am in Leeds and would use lawcris for this. They have supplied a lot of laminated panels for the place where I work, I haven't used them myself for this though.

Bandsaw Tensioning App - Measuring Vibrations

I have never had an issue doing it by feel. It isn't a scientific measure but of all the bandsaw setup challenges, tension isn't in the top 3 for me.

    Celluloid was traditional wasn't it?

    Track saw suitability

Yeah, that was pretty much what I was thinking but didn't explain quite as well.

    Track saw suitability

I would think beyond this project. The tracksaw could be made to rip down cls on the 38mm thick cut with a bit of thought, such as ganging together several lengths to support the track. It isn't really the best tool for that job. How often do you plan to do this task and what else do you have...

    Silver Soldering in a Kiln

nice. my (rather boring) goal is to be able to silver solder by the end of the year.

    Startrite Mercury Pillar Drill 5053

eBay sold listings are probably your best bet. The myford in particular could vary from a bit to a lot, dependant on model.

Amazon seems to be getting more and more expensive

I treated next door to a large number sign for their gate clearly showing it was 58A and not 58! Best fiver that I have invested in months.

first drillpress looking at one from screwfix

What are you planning on drilling- I would be hesitant with this one but if you are using it to drill for scroll saw cutting it is different to using large Forsner bits or making things to tight tolerances

    Router bit

Is it a one off job? A silverline special would be fine if so, a couple of quid from Toolstation. You are cutting both the rebate and the tongue so you can use imperial or metric whatever they have. The size is flexible to a degree too if they only have 8mm, etc. As said, a saw blade could be...

    MFT Table Best Accessories

The only negative point that I have found so far... My current mft top is about 750mm wide, so is not the full size if the mft. I have 6 holes front to back I think. The fence covers one of these, and the rail dogs need another 2, so dealing with wide boards with the fence is compromised on my...

    Steel rod/bar

I don't disagree with any of the posts on the thread. Maybe I am lazy, but the steel would be on its way to me now. I wouldn't have had to leave the house and spend time calling in to places, waiting for them to open and worrying about them having minimum orders etc. Any extra spent on postage...

    Router bit

I would just use a single cutter personally. It will have to be the smaller one and do it in a couple of passes.

    Steel rod/bar

It depends how much you need. I would use metals4u if I could be bothered to go and collect or there/eBay if not. It will be cut to size and just what you need. For enough for a chisel or 3, you won't save much wherever you go. Bright mild steel isn't necessary but it looks and feels nicer...

Amazon seems to be getting more and more expensive

Aside from books and stationery, I have never found Amazon to be particularly competitive. I have used them at times because I have prime (so prepaid "free" delivery), the app is easy to use and the next day delivery could be relied upon. On small orders using the premium delivery service they...

    Pressure Pot for resin casting

A pressure put reduces the size of the bubbles in the resin so that they hopefully cannot be seen. By contrast, a vacuum pot sucks out the air and removes the bubbles- you use this with stabilising wood. Stopping them from forming is more closes related to the way that it is mixed and poured.

I refitted the head to the handle and put the thing back to work. So far so good.

    Axe

Thanks. I work (well when I was in the office) next to lavers and I have also used lawris, who I think are panel depot.

    Applying green baize

I haven't used baise but have used similar materials and I always use copydex. If I don't have any, I will go any buy some rather than make do with anything else. It is harder to get now than it used to be, I had to go out if my way the last time I needed some.
