    Spindle Moulder question

It's really not a good idea and any way if you put those two cutters in that block one opposite the other you would just get a large chamfer with no groove.

    Wooden runners

I've still not come to a decision on this one but there is a theory of hard on soft, ie hard draw sides then soft runners, because oak on oak wears each other quickly but oak on pine doesn't. Also in old cabinets it's often quite easy to replace the runners rather than repair the draw sides...

    Removing chrome plating

I think it's an acid you need, but one that won't eat the brass! Acid catalyst is I believe dilute hydrochloric so might work is you have any, best check the brass though, For what it's worth many years ago some one down the pub who worked in a plating works offered to re plate an old RAC car...

    Mango Wood

I don't know if this is the case here but I do know there are countries that have timber but very little employment so they all but ban the export of raw timber, in favor of processing it into higher value products for export. by example I recently bought from a large timber importer some...

Really must clean out the guttering more!

We do get others but the largest I've seen here must be the Red kites, with a wing span of five and a half feet they are quite impressive, I don't think they would catch a live Hare though so maybe a roadkill take-away.

Really must clean out the guttering more!

Got to work this morning and while opening up noticed this hanging over the door, it seems something dropped in for lunch while I was out. (sorry if you haven't had breakfast yet.) I believe it was once a hare or very large rabbit. no sign of the diner though.

Got a couple of logs from a felled tree....

First thing to do is find out what you have, and unless it is something really special it will almost definitely cost you more than the wood is worth.

    Sloping Floors

I was once asked to make some blocks to level up a bed because the floor was not level, when I went and looked the carpet was like a trampoline, there must have been a good inch gap between it and the boards really weird to walk on! and the bed needed a good 4 or 5" at the foot end. that really...

    Planer/Thicknesser problem

Can I ask a few questions, is this a new machine or second hand?, does this happen on other pieces of wood or just this piece? How thick is this board? Does this happens when surface planing and when thicknessing? when you say it gets more pronounced do you mean one pass = 0.5mm gap both sides...
