    I think you need to choose your draw runners first some will allow you to have a over deep draw box but some won't.

    Or if you can get a jobbers bit then just re grind the end to create a usable brad point it's not that difficult with a bit of practice.

    If you really want to go with the shorter worktops, I can join them for you with a feature dovetail / Jigsaw like joint, I did post a photo of one I did recently.

    How flush does it need to be? I think you may need to recess the top of your block to take a special made flat nut.

    The way I see it is that these two tools are chalk and cheese, if you use one you don't really use the other, if you have the space then it's a table saw every time, but space is very valuable so don't waste it. I have both but rarely ever use the track saw.

    Lakeone wood whitener I have found works very well at removing the red from woods like Mahogany.
