DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

My little helper arrived just in time to help fit the last 3 floor boards. A rare internet appearance for her. Also managed to get the doors painted and the door jamb fitted. Locks and guttering will be next, then some kind of skirting round the edge of the floor to close off the gap and...

Wadkin PK 3 phase to single phase

On your motor will be an info plate telling you power, phase, and a few other goodies. If you're in luck it'll have a little triangle or the word delta on it.

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

See all of this faffing with boards or BL Touches would get right on my thrupennys. I'm only 35 but after years of being the go to IT guy for people I am now in a period of "Just work damnit". My time is limited enough without wanting to allocate more of it to fixing something that wasn't broken...

Axminster Craft AC153E chip extractor and workshop dust plumbing

Andy, out of interest when you say the numatic leaves dust in the pipes, do you mean the 150mm or the 100mm ones? I'm assuming the 150 due to the extra volume needed to keep airspeed up.

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

I have been exceedingly fortunate by the sound of things. I just manually bed level with a post it and have never had any issues with blobbing or stringing or adhesion. It's white AMZ3D PLA I got from Amazon that just stays on the machine when not in use. The only mods I've done is to print...

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

I've printed a fair bit and never even looked at any gcode. Download or make a model, import to Cura, slice it into layers and export that gcode to the sdcard. If you only want to be able to print simple adapters I or Andy could upload (assuming there isn't one) a file that can be very easily...

    MDF GLUE

In the US there are safety data sheets for all sorts of things. Did you know that there isnt one for Oak or Pine or Teak or any other specific species?? They all use the same one. Basically it says all wood dust might kill you, might give you a reaction, might give you cancer etc. We're all...

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

My ender 3 pro cost me £195 from banggood, but was a UK location so was here in 2 days unlike most stuff which comes from China. Had to buy filament with that. Excellent results without faffing with anything. I've got some mounts for the motors to redduce the noice a bit but enver got around to...

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

There are people that will print to your specs but I think charge £10-15 per adapter.

Axminster Craft AC153E chip extractor and workshop dust plumbing

Andy, if rigged right you might be able to use the HPLV on the same cyclone, just need to set a gate to block off the other machine. I know Axminster say that the cyclone is not suitable for HPLV systems and that might well be because they generate the particle velocity to function right in a...

Problem with Oneida dust deputy system

Glad you sorted it out. If it makes you feel any better my mother in law called me over the other day because her sound bar wasn't working. She'd unplugged it. Then 3 days later it was broken again. She'd turned the volume down. We all do daft things!

Axminster Craft AC153E chip extractor and workshop dust plumbing

Andy thanks for the link to the thread, I'd missed it. With regard to your question about using it on sanders and small tools, I believe most would advocate a separate HPLV as while it hasn't got the airflow it's got the suck required to deal with those small hoses and adapters. I guess we all...

    Forstner bits

I believe stumpy nubs did a video comparing the flat ones, wave ones and saw tooth ones, concluding that the wave offer the best of both the flat and the saw tooth. He also recommended Fisch bits.

Problem with Oneida dust deputy system

Didn't know he'd gone that far with it. Frankly I think Axminster do a 4" one for about £120 (just the cyclone) but I imagine it's like most, a basic cone with none of the refinements that Pentz has advocated and clearvue have actually implemented.

Captain money bags over here! :p Can't get them here iirc.

Things like bicycle inner tubes make excellent thin gaskets where needed

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

I've done the same Andy for my Makita mitre saw though I drew that from scratch and even managed to add the hole for the screws. In fact it was part of the reason I dropped the £200 on the Ender 3 Pro. The variance in all the tools is absurd. I've also seen young Marius Hornberger print whole...

    Triton plungesaw

If I recall the schleppach stuff pretty much only works with its own. I think the distance between the edge of the rail and the ridge on the rail are further apart than on pretty much every other rail. So the Triton would run on the rail, but it would cut the aluminium on the edge rather than...
