    Sketchup drawing and finished project

Fusion is great. They recently changed the pricing model so anyone fan use it for free (was always the case), but for commercial use you now either need a startup license (under £100k a year and be less than 3 years old) or the full license which is £438 a year. A bit less if you get the 3 year...

    Sketchup drawing and finished project

Yeah both sketch up and fusion are great when you spend a little time to learn them. I still have the free sketch up stored incase I need it, though I only use fusion now. Being able to change a dimension (say the height) and the whole model updating(side panels, drawer sizes, drawer face sizes...

    Struggling With Motivation

I think it's not uncommon to have things that need doing that you're not in the mood for. Just find something you can do that you want to do, enjoy that but make sure you go back and finish what you started. Otherwise it was just a waste of time. What you think looks like a crapoy box with...

    Dust extractor automation/remote power on.

They would both just be calling for the extractor to turn on so it wouldn't cause a problem. Once it's on you could open every gate if you wanted. I don't yet know what I'll do for mine as I don't even have the saw yet, but I'll just use one gate. You'd never need no extraction under the table...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

I assume there must be some commonality in parts. I don't think this one needs restoring at all, just a bit of a clean. @Lons probably had his in bits before so might be of use.

    Table saw help needed

As long as the knife is thinner than the teeth on the blade but at least as thick as the body on the blade, I can't see a reason any other knife won't work. You justneed to have a look and see what kind of holes you need as some are slots and some are just holes in certain positions.

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

I didn't know that about the worm gear so I'll have a good look while it's in smaller bits. Thanks for the details. I honestly wasn't even looking for this saw. There is the 10" for sale in the market and I was umming and ahhing about making an offer. I did a quick ebay search for sip saws and...

Not a single pic of a blast gate and its switch. Consider me unsubscribed!

    Newbie Alert.

I reckon the majority here are only in it for the joy of doing it Nick, so welcome from another enthusiastic wood butcher. I did do one speed awareness course. The forced "play with the people on your table" was insufferable! I imagine its much more enjoyable now as its surely done via zoom...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

Yeah it looks to be a chunky one. I'll do a bit of a writeup on it when I get it home as there's so little info out there on it. That manual has printed out lovely on works A3 printer so thanks for that ;) It's actually a PDF done correctly so all the text is actually scalable depending on print...

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

Brilliant Lons thank you, when I looked on sipuk.co.uk the manual for the saw was actually the manual for the sliding table. Looks like It'll come apart easily enough. The seller is taking the wings off for me which will save a bit of time at least.

Sip 01446 12" Table saw details, repairs and review

I've just won a Sip 01446 12" saw on ebay and am due to collect on Tuesday. Just looking to see if anyone has info on how easily the top comes off the cabinet and better yet how much of the weight of the saw is the 3 cast iron tops. I'm hoping to collect in my Skoda Superb estate but that's...

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Hopefully the light seller comes back with more, they really are nice. While I've been at work not actually working I've been getting started on editing more of the little videos together. There are chunks missing as frankly it was starting to get wet and dribbly and I was running out of time...

    Duck tape or duct tape?

Oh apologies, I meant the pronunciation. It's clearly spelt GIF as you pointed out. It's also pronounced GIF and I'll fight people that say otherwise. It would appear that before we english were introduced to the fruit as "an orange" we were calling things that were coloured orange yellowred or...

    Duck tape or duct tape?

The creator says its pronounced jif. The planet at large chooses to ignore him.

    Duck tape or duct tape?

It'll always be duct tape just as GIF will always be GIF even though it is apparently supposed to be JIF

    What is this vice worth?

The 53 isn;t as popular as Sellers has got people frothing for the 52 1/2 but its still good money to the right person. It's also an older one looking at the boss and the front jaw design with the RD number on it.
