    Understanding MDF

If they only sell to trade but are happy to sell in small quantities then it's really rarely hard to get an account.

    16amp single phase table saw

You can probably plug it in if there is a lead that does it. But it'll probably throw 13a fuses depending on the model. My 3hp extractor for example can run fine on a 13a plug but starting the damned thing will throw a fuse every 15 goes or so. There is a reason it's supposed to be on a 16a...

    Understanding MDF

Watch the video from peter about formaldehyde. More is released from an orange than some mdf. Its all made to meet the legal requirements.

Now is the time to buy 150 mm metric Starrett Combination Square

Has one of these on my Xmas list so hoping someone got me one before they got sold out! Have has the 300mm for ages and it's very nice. More importantly, check that it's amazon selling it, not just fulfilling it. The latter is Joe sending a box of product to amazon for them to sell on his...

    Record DX4000 Silence Cabinet

As long as the area of the baffle is larger than the area of the outlet from the vac (and it likely would be much larger, it would be fine. My old dx4000 (they may have changed it since mine was made) has a few maybe 50mm holes to vent from filled with a 3mm holey mesh. A 100mm inlet is only...

    Router Bench

:ROFLMAO: Looking forward to seeing this finished so I can see what you did wrong and make my own! Made a jig to route some dados the other day, put the flippin router in and the base was too wide!

    Understanding MDF

I have a mrmdf boot (yes, boot) shelf drying from its first top coat as we speak. Also planning using it to make an av cabinet and plenty 9f other stuff. The likes of @petermillard and others made a good living from the stuff. For painting the edges, just prime it, sand it, prime it, sand it...

    Dust extraction

Not really. If you want to improve it it's either get a saw with better collection (which still is often bot great) or try to make something that can help. There are lots of attempts online with varying degrees of success.

The Build Begins (Workshop in Garage)

I've got forstner bits on mine, but not regular bits. As for everything else, KISS. Those nice incra knockoff T rules I got? A bit of ply with 2 kerfs cut in it and they slot in side on. Minimal wall space and fast to make.

    Dust extraction

Ahh OK. Dyson is HPLV. Mitre saws are often bad for DX but I don't think it helps that often they are connected to HPLV, so all the stray bits don't get scooped up. Mostly because everyone just used the built in dust port which is small and useless for LPHV.

Pushfit soil pipe as dust extraction

The risk of getting struck on the bonce by a meteor also isn't zero. Yet you don't walk the street wearing a Challenger 2 as a hat.

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

I've not looked at whether the ender 3 pro can deal with a laser too. Not that I have had th etime yet to do some of the prints I want let alone start burning things!

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

Thank you! I promise I'll render the other 2 videos at some point 🤣 Not much going on due to work and other stuff. I did finally add some more drawers to the bandsaw cabinet I hacked together 18 months ago. Boy was that a learning experience. The only other drawer I've made was on the flip...

    Dust extraction

What size is the duct going to your mitre saw? LPHV is pants if you drop down much below 75mm and really wants to be 100mm at least.

Pushfit soil pipe as dust extraction

Any actual evidence of your claims? or just the usual PVC causes explosions myth?

Dust hose adaptor problems - be gone!

ONly ever used Sketchup and then I gave Fusion a try and have been on it since. My brother who could never understand sketchup tried fusion last week and picked it up in ni time at all. No idea why one worked in his head and the other didn't!

Pushfit soil pipe as dust extraction

IIRC Mike Jordan once referred to anyone doing it with plastic ducting and home made blast gates as "penny pinching clowns".

DBT85s Workshop - Moved in and now time to fit it out

I absolutely should have started at the bottom with a couple of securing battens and worked my way up. I was a fool doing it the way I did. A gnat farts at 100 paces and the membrane billows all over the place! I didn't do the openings at the time because I thought I might actually get to the...

    The wonder of the domino

For the filthy tool collectors among us this was a nice 50 minute video from the german Festool chaps about the tool and its accessories.
