    Routing a slot

ok. So why can't you do that with the router fence in position A and then move it to position B and route again? EDIT: Now I see your pic I see that it would mean you wouldn't have the rounded stop that you want. It would be a flat bottomed U at the bottom.

    Routing a slot

I'm still missing something 😂 Just trying to understand For your existing 30mm slots you set up your router table, and either a) drop your piece down onto the bit and then push through, or b) push through and do a stop cut. This gives you your U shaped channel that is stopped at one end. Am I...

    Vaccination

In the UK only about 600 people are killed by drunk driving a year. 85,000 are convicted of drink driving, of which apparently 85% are male. Shocker. Smells like a whole lot of some, probably, could and if. Now, I'm right with you that the statement "died with covid" can be skewed. If I test...

    Routing a slot

Do you want to keep the bottom of the 48mm slot U shaped or flat bottom U shaped? I've not got a router table or needed to cut a slot like this, but can't you set up your fence, make one pass and then move the fence to make the second pass while avoiding a climb cut? I must be missing something?

    Vaccination

So odd to still see people bankhandedly saying it's not that bad when we've had 1000 people dying a day despite being in these lockdowns. How bad were we supposed to let it get exactly?

    Superlec.

Superlec supplied the 50m 10mm 2 core SWA for my workshop. If I recall they were cheaper than TLC AND didn't want to charge me a SWA delivery surcharge of £15.

    Applying finish oil (Osmo)

I applied 3032 to my kitchen worktops with a 9" foam roller apparently designed for such a job but who knows about that. It takes so long to dry that the air is gone. My more recent use was some worktop for the utility and for that it was just a standard 4" foam roller. No issues at all. 3...

Do you need all that sheet because of the box design for the sides of the drawers?

How much is the whole project going to cost you, and is it worth pissing around with sliders over the sake of that £50 difference? You'll always be sitting there going "I wish I'd just spent that bit extra and done it right" I feel. Maybe have a look at the blum tandem runners?

A bit more modern from bobby

That beautiful kitchen and they went with a gas hob! Great work. Did you paint the doors or were they sent away? I did a couple in F&B Blue Ground Dead Flat last week, not sure how long it'll hold up though. Not sure if any additives or top coatings are used to protect the paint?

Planer thicknesser help Hammer vs. Sedgwick?

Tazio, welcome to the forum. I fear your perspective might be lost on the original poster as the other posts in this thread are now 12 years old.

    Extraction confusion

Dispel the thought that MDF is more bad for you. All wood will give of tiny particles that can do you harm, doesn't matter if its oak or teak or MDF. Treat them all the same, like they want to do you in. Times are difficult for both new and as a result second had stuff, but do have a look...

    Extraction confusion

For what you want an extractor (HVLP inflatable bag type) won't work (I say won't, they will, just not nearly as well as they want to), they don't have the suck to deal with small tool connections like HPLV. You need a HPLV (high pressure low volume) vacuum like a camvac or the festool ctl...

    Any advice on MDF variants?

Medite MR will be fine. Some people prefer to use birch ply but it's overkill Imo.

Oh that'll be fine then. As you say its all loaded on the runners. If you are really worried maybe spend the extra on nice blum runners rather than standard BB ones.

    Any advice on MDF variants?

Happy to report that at least my Kellaways have switched to Medite. They are a builders merchant really but are comparable with the few "real" timber places that I've found and are only 12 miles or so away so delivery is cheap.

    Are cheap cyclones any good?

I think axminster have the cheapest, but its a basic design and £150. To deal with 100mm inlets the units need to be a fair bit larger so they now can;t be shipped cheaply from china like the small 50mm ones. Also at 100mm they are probably going to restrict a well tuned 2hp extractor...

    Pantry Built-ins

What width and depth are you talking about? On the basis that the base probably won't be right at the bottom of the drawer front, it would ave to sag a lot to cause a problem with the drawer below. If you're not sure get a bit of the right size and support it on the sides and get someone to...

I don't think they would believe it nowadays?

One thing that is abundantly clear is that I'm one of the whippersnappers around these parts!
