Sorry folks.. shameless Youtube channel plug ..

Don't get rid of your intro altogether the last part is very good and will give your channel your identity and that is important.

Sorry folks.. shameless Youtube channel plug ..

Although some people don't seem to think I know what I am talking about I would suggest that your intro is very artistic but it goes on to long. Videos on YouTube to be successful need to be quick, slick and and informative in not much more than 5 minutes to create inough interested for people...

Sorry folks.. shameless Youtube channel plug ..

YouTube is a fantastic resource to show of products you have to sell but anybody who thinks that they will ever make an income from their YouTube videos alone is kidding themselves. If that is your ambition or anybody else's ambition just forget it it won't happen.

    Drill presses again!

Just to make things quite clear, I am not blowing my frock up by saying I have 2 pillar drills and most people only have 1. What I am trying to say is that for most woodworking or metalworking jobs most people will encounter in a home workshop do not need to buy a high end engineering quality...

    Drill presses again!

Lone said. Why? Genuine question for someone who uses mine for both, metalwork is smaller percentage I rarely use cutting fluids and always vacuum up swarf I guess that depends on your definition of metalworking. My most recent metalworking project was railings across the garden to contain...

    Drill presses again!

If you are doing both woodworking and metalworking you need 2 pillar drills.

That time of the year again!

In trouth the worst thing you can do in a small hobby workshop is to try and heat it for a few hours a day, you will cause massive condensation problems. Buy yourself some thermal insulated overalls, a wooly hat and a pair of fingerless gloves and just accept that in the winter the situation in...

Kity 513/613 owners or anyone with flat bandsaw wheels! >

I own a kity 613 but to be honest I only use 1/2 inch blades in it and the teeth run just over the front of the wheels. Looking at the manual it says it will take 1/4 blades and the set up is the same. Don't get involved with all this coplanar stuff if that was wrong you would have problems with...

A question to DeWalt radial arm saw owners.

Thanks for the replies. I have lived with it like this for years it may well have been like it when I purchased it new some 30 odd years ago. At moment I've more time on my hands than projects to do and was going to see if I could fix it but if they are all like it I won't bother.

A question to DeWalt radial arm saw owners.

I have a dw125 ras that I have owned from new and am very happy with. The only issue I have with it is that the rise and fall knob on the top has a lot of backlash in that if I for example raise the blade and then want to for example lower it by 1mm the knob goes 1/4 turn before the blade lowers...

Box Joints with a circular saw (Kity Bestcombi)

There is no magic button, he is using the kity box joint jig that comes with wobble washers for the blade. The kit was an extra and he hasn't gone into any detail about setting it up.

Self-builders - how did you find your plot/s?

For over 30 years we lived in a large 4 bed detached house sitting on a large plot that also had a 1400sq foot workshop and parking for at least 8 vehicles in a village that we would have never wanted to move away from. The time came that we reached the conclusion that we needed to down size but...

Self-builders - how did you find your plot/s?

We did a self build house in 2015 in the garden of our existing house that we had lived in for 30 years. In my opinion there are 3 options build in a garden you already own, buy a house with a large garden you could get permission to build on or buy a run down house in the area you want to live...

    Bandsaw set up.

I think that it is correct to say that in the days before you started to promote everything Axminster you had an Inca bandsaw and there is no way you set that up in the Snodgrass way.

    Bandsaw set up.

So can you please explain to me the point of having crowned wheels if it is not to keep the centre of the blade in the centre of the wheel.
  16. P

    Bandsaw set up.

The whole point of having crowned wheels is to keep the centre of the blade in the centre of the wheel therefore setting the blade with the bottom the teeth in the centre of the wheel is clearly wrong.

Do you have both a RAS and table saw?

A I think that it depends on the size of wood you normally work with. A radial arm saw on it's own stand does take up a lot of room. I cut the table down on mine and have in the middle of my bench and can fold it away when I don't need it. I would not be without it.

Tally Ho - Rebuilding a 107 year old sailing yacht!!

I have to say that I have no interest in boats but I have watched all his videos and am full of admiration for what he is trying to achieve, his skill and knowledge level and his determination to do the almost impossible.

Building the Matthias Wandell 20" Big Bandsaw

I would never consider building my own bandsaw but I am interested to follow this thread. Work so far looks to be to a high standard.
