    "Today I Am Mostly Gardening"

It is very odd, we've got delphiniums blooming alongside asters, and on the way to Stratford last weekend I saw blooms on a horse chestnut. Some plants are made dormant by very high temperatures, almost like a type of 'winterisation', but I've never seen it in the UK before

    Stall set up/advice

Wands, and mice. Turn a teardrop shape, sand a flat so it stands nose up, eyes done with a pyrography tool, glue on leather or fabric ears, string for a tail. Bit of a fiddle but popular. Small bowls 3 or 4 inches across sold well for me, people like something to empty pockets into

    Renault Traffic Sport leak Help?

Looks like a lot of water could be channeled forwards on to the windscreen. I wonder if the A posts have drains in them. We once had a car that steamed up badly because rubber pipes that should have drained water down from the top of the windscreen use to block, leaving water to seep in...

    "Today I Am Mostly Gardening"

Once you've got them, tomato seeds are easy to save as the plants are self fertile and come out true to type. Some methods recommend 'fermenting' the seeds to remove germination inhibitors but I have found spreading ripe seed on sheets of kitchen roll and thoroughly drying them works well. You...

    Repair to concrete Garden Ornament

If it's going to be painted I'd look at using Milliput, worked well for me when fixing a reconstituted stone statue

    Parrotia Persica

There are three forms usually grown in the UK, one a multi stemmed shrub, one a mid sized tree with long horizontal branches, and the third a more conventional tree. I think if you get the second one you will see a lot of reaction wood in branch timber when you process it. I felled one a couple...

If you have no luck this might be of interest and is about half the price of a clean and oil at our nearest clock shop. https://hobby.uk.com/8-day-spring-movement.html

How to stop mice pinching the traps?

One day you'll move a machine or cupboard and there'll be a little mouse ossary complete with all the traps. I do find the nipper traps need a little fettling for best results, there's often a little burr on the setting rod or the balance loop is too pinched in so it catches a back leg rather...

    Slingshots

That figures, the local vets had posters up recommending rabbits be vaccinated against haemorrhagic virus, as well as myxy, recently

    Slingshots

There seems to be a bit of ebb and flow with myxy, which may have an effect, or there's a new cat around. Our ginger tom is great at catching rabbits, I've seen him hunker down in cover near a burrow, wait for an outbound rabbit to pass him, then sneak up on it knowing it'll try to get past him...

Wand Makers and Whittlers Help Required

Not just bad luck but gives off some nasty fumes. I've had skin reactions to the sap before

    Slingshots

Look at the Kania 2000 traps, quick and little chance of catching non target species. Easier to set than the enclosed fen trap type too

    Slingshots

If your neighbours are on side with this you might do better long netting them, although that does entail dispatching them. A black widow catapult is probably cheaper than the bits to make one, a couple of air rifle plinking targets to practice on and bunnies beware!
