    Selling stuff (again)

My other half used to sell a fair bit through Etsy, but in the last 12 months or so it has gone really quiet. It used to be solely handmade items or craft supplies but now seems so full of personalised mugs and t shirts that the handmade stuff struggles unless you have a presence on social media...

Post a photo of the last thing you turned

Love those Holly podlets Stig, the way the light filters through is great and you have done well to keep them so white. I've often found Holly can go a dirty grey

The joys of electric car ownership!

If you're going to catch hell from environmentalists for buying diesel you might as well throw in some single use plastic and use the gloves ;)

The joys of electric car ownership!

Which can be avoided if you hold the hose in one hand and the nozzle in the other

    Circlips

I've had a couple wear through and fall apart on garden machinery in the past but the remains are usually somewhere to be found. Guess you have very good dust extraction

Lathe nu tool 37 or clarke 37

Looking at your other thread on here I wonder if the disc you have could screw on the outboard end (possibly using a grub screw to stop it unscrewing) and the angle plate could mount on the bench the lathe is fixed to. That way you would have a permanent sanding/sharpening setup

Lathe nu tool 37 or clarke 37

Is it the outboard end of the shaft, marked I on the second pic?

    AC370WL upgrades

Guess you are not the only one thinking this way: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Axminster-Hobby-Series-Woodturning-Lathe-with-Speed-Genie-Upgrade-/204364451048?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p4429486.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0 Iirc these kits are around £500-600 so not a cheap option. When...

woodworm holes suddenly appeared in new build bookcase

From woodworm to earworm in less than 10 posts, that's impressive thread drift :ROFLMAO: Don't say I never give you anything:

    Essential first aid items.

Last first aid course I did the chap running it suggested a roll of cling film should be included, very good for covering large wounds apparently, and easy to get off. He also said fix the box to a vertical surface so it doesn't get covered in stuff, and think about what you can open/tie...

    Memory card recovery, help needed

The card was Samsung, mid range or so I thought. I've tended to use SanDisk in the past with reliable results, including recovering accidentally deleted pics although that was so long ago I don't recall the software we used. Daughter definitely fell into the latter category, even after many...

    Memory card recovery, help needed

Good evening all, Daughter's phone has thrown a wobbly and won't recognise the (fairly new) memory card. Using chkdsk on the desktop tells me the data is in raw form. Can anyone recommend a good tool to try to recover whatever information we can? I'm pretty tech illiterate so the simpler the...

    Turning Yew

All kinds of wood can cause sensitisation, and respiratory issues arise from all manner of fine dust. I find these days any exposure to softwood dust causes me sinus issues. If you are careful to use suitable respiratory protection equipment (RPE) and good dust extraction/chip collection you...

    Good patio / moss cleaner

Somewhere on the label it will probably list a quartenary ammonium compound, such as ddac. I use these at work to keep paved areas safe and they work brilliantly. One word of caution, don't let dogs on it until it's truly dry as I have heard of some having nasty reactions to it

    Facebook Marketplace scams?

Have seen some like these and wondered why it's £80? Maybe there's a 'sweet spot' of cheap enough to be a bargain but expensive enough to be (un)believable
