    New dw625e off the bay

Well. It turned up today and isn't bad. It has cleaned up well so far. The motor seems to run smoothly enough (so far). Only issues I need to sort is it won't yet plunge right down to the base and I need to soak the nut in WD40 to shift it. I might try a soldering iron on the nut to expand...

    New dw625e off the bay

Just won a dewalt DW 625 on eBay "not working". Apparent it just needs a clean. Hopefully it will work after a going over with the wire wool. By the time you add the postage there will be little change from £100!! doh I'm running a sweepstake that it'll never work and live on the shelf as a...

    Neighbours from hell

But they would have a civil claim against you for nuisance. It's the same if you let diesel leak from your tank onto next door's land. So they could sue you for the replacement cost of a mature hedge.

    Neighbours from hell

I'm not sure these posts are helping the OP. Whether you like it or not you are generally stuck with your neighbours. The last thing you want to do is make this the central focus of your life. It will drive you nuts. However hard to do, the best thing is to try to talk to your neighbour and...

Ebay prices - has the world gone mad?

I have my mate's mint Elu mof177e at the moment on loan and would love to buy it off him. But you can get a new dewalt 625e for £160 (without the fence and bits and bobs) which will happily live under the table. So why would I pay more than that for a 20 year old one? However good they were...

Ebay prices - has the world gone mad?

I've been watching this nice ELU Mof177e on ebay - 20 years old - 2 owners - cutter stuck. Another hour to go and bids up to £255 + £19 postage :? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT

    Blinking Rutlands again

Well Rutlands, all is forgiven. They sent me a free set of cookies to compensate me for the damage to my router table. Nice people.

    Framed ledged & braced door

+1 on expansion. Remember the t&g boards will expand and warp the doors unless you have given plenty of room for movement. On a 100 to 125 mm t@g board, I'd expect up to 5mil expansion per board. ATB Steve

Removing Old 1930s Old Varnish From Stairs

I'll bet my trousers that the door wood is Douglas Fir aka Oregon Pine. It's a beautiful wood. My 20's house is built almost entirely of Douglas Fir (obviously not the bricks!). It has very interesting semi hardwood properties and has natural water/rot resistance. You can get it from a good...

    router table

Hi Wukkie1 I'll start the ball rolling on this one. Most router tables will take a whole host of routers. You normally need to drill the insert plate on the table to match the holes on the base plate of the router. You might want to post some photos or model number so we can give more...

    Mdf dust eye irritation

I had no extraction going as I was not using power tools - just a scrap of 80grit on a block! And for about 20 mins. I'm now convinced it was the mdf. The irritation only lasted 24 hours. I also got a very blocked up nose. A hayfever tab made a big difference. Next time I work on mdf I will...
