    PCB Boards -- Simple Machinery

Checked the fuse... all good... I don't think so, when I hooked up the motor directly to the mains (with the capacitor in) it ran smoothly.

    PCB Boards -- Simple Machinery

Question is... is it worth having a PCB on here? Like... seriously... I'm not going to sell nor do I plan to move this jointer to anyone else.

    PCB Boards -- Simple Machinery

It's connected directly in several ways to the power switch. I really need to write up the wiring diagram along with labelling the wires, all the wires are black which doesn't help matters. Seem to fine, I can load it on different platforms... essentially it's just motor jittering. I...

    PCB Boards -- Simple Machinery

Fanstatic explanation thank you @Spectric, only wish I knew enough to ascertain whether the fault is with the PCB. Sending this to Record Power, I might as well buy a new one. Anyway I shall plod, learn as ascertain with time 😊 Thank you again.

    PCB Boards -- Simple Machinery

Morning All, Quick, silly question... Given the simplicity (or at least it used to be) of the mechanical elements in things like jointers and band saws for instance, why is there a need for PCBs in them? Reason for my ask is that I am troubleshooting a jointer at the moment and will probably...

Where can I get this part?

Awesome video, I think I'm on the same boat, my PT260 is having the jitters and after testing and making sure it wasn't the capacitor, the problem lies upstream, first component on the block is this switch. Has anyone found a suitable up to date replacement?

Record Power Planer Thicknesser - RSPT260 - Connect Motor to Mains

Perhaps, I think I need to do a top down approach. Circuit by circuit, breaker by breaker... starting with the capacitor. Would be nice if I had a proper circuit diagram with component parts, but hey ho.

Electrician // Manchester ¦ North West - Recomendations

Fair point... but again, I'm willing to pay, it's just getting the right benchmark. Hence my problem, and industrial sparkies will simply not come near domestic installations unless their company and remit are aimed at both. (and have a Part P) Agree, however when I host any electricians for...
