Seems perfectly sensible to my mind. As @Amplidyne says "Work smart not hard"

eBay scrapping selling fees for private sellers

A friend sold some items on Vinted. The friend then had difficulty extracting their money for a couple of months presumably in case the buyer 'changed their mind' and wanted their money back. I have no personal experience of this not having used Vinted for anything.

    Slipping F-clamps

I have a Jorgensen E-Z Hold clamp that doesn't hold. It's similar to the Irwin quick clamps. It was new and given to me because 'I'm good at fixing things'. It's a shame I can't see anyway of using this innovative way of fixing it. 😰

    Screw removal from gate help.

I've nearly always driven an ordinary steel screw with the same thread into hardwood before driving in the stainless steel final screw. Helps avoid the SS one snapping off. Same deal with brass screws in h/w.

    Tapping (die-ing) helper

Slightly off thread but I've used old dies to a) hold a screw when I'm cutting it to length and b) to clean up the thread as I'm removing the screw from the die. I find this works better than using the traditional nut to clean the thread.

Sanding discs on the lathe, do you glue them on or use something like velcro?

If you decide that velcro right for you then Axi have a range of velcro discs though I'm not sure what diameters they have. They do a 305mm one which suited my needs. As suggested in another thread we must support our UK suppliers.

Hey @pops92 that video course looks good. I'll certainly look at it especially as 15 minutes a day for 30 days (assuming it continues to be 15 minutes or thereabouts) is not too much time out of the day - plus his English is quite understandable not like some. Ta! 🙂

I know nothing about the Prusa so can only guess that you'll need a slicer but I'm sure others here with more knowledge will advise. I have just bought a Bambu P1S and the slicer is packaged with the Bambu Studio software. Previously I had a Robox 3D printer and the slicer was built in with...

I'm currently a Designspark Mechanical user (not quite a fan 😀). Like all programmes it has its good bits and those you would like to see improved. I tried Fusion 360 but couldn't get on with it. Your Prusa needs a STL (stereo lithography) file or a 3mf file. As @Chailattesaid you can...

Haggling on price - is it the done thing?

Also as a seller if the prospective purchaser comes back with "what's the lowest price you'll accept" I will ask for their best offer rather than giving them a low price. The corollary is if you are the buyer always make a monetary offer.

It's not every day (for Kittyhawk)

In the late 80s early 90s I lived at Hinxton about a mile as the Lancaster flies from IWM Duxford. It was wonderful watching the Spitfires, Hurricanes, Lancasters and others flying over. I especially watched out for the flying boats: there was something magical about the Catalinas and...

    Spoonerisms....

Yes when recounting a trip out to the local Nymans gardens to my daughter I referred to the Trashional Nust! Much better name thought I. 🤣🤣

    Router shock/tingling from body

True but has the plug been mis-wired?
  17. M

    Router shock/tingling from body

Sounds to me as though the neutral and earth are swapped in the plug. That would mean that it would still work but the return load current would run back through the earth connection and if so why isn't the rcd tripping? Agree with @Spectric you must get it checked for your own safety.

New road tax charging rules wont just affect EV OR just new vehicles, its retrospectively changes your tax band

And the media would have you believe that the cost of insurance for all of us has spiralled because of the problems associated with EV accidents: batteries having to be replaced because of possible damage to same.

    Joke Thread 5

    The ! Indicates factorial which in this case is root (9) ie. 3. Factorial 3 is 3 x 2 x 1 = 6, minus 1 hence 5.

    Router shock/tingling from body

Do you feel the tingle when the router is plugged in but not running? If you have it plugged in can you measure any voltage between the metal parts and a ground point? If so parts of the insulation are breaking down under voltage stress. Get it PAT tested.
