    Festool Domino "loose" settings

I make my own dominos and often make some to fit the wider setting as sometimes a standard one isn't enough but two won't fit in!

Wanting magnets to hold on trims

I sometimes use these Tounge-Tite screws on mouldings that need to be removeable, the head is only about 3mm so not obvious if you can put them in strategic places. https://www.screwfix.com/p/tongue-tite-tx-countersunk-thread-cutting-floorboard-screws-3-5mm-x-45mm-200-pack/85991 I still often...

    Clamps

I have the Festool ratchet version and find them okay, the only thing that annoys me is that they look like you should be able to use them one handed but you can't (well you can but it's not easy).

    Christmas Gift Ideas!!

I got one of their cheap ones, 10oz titanium head on a wooden shaft, just under £100 when I bought it. The theory is Titanium gives less recoil and transfers more energy than steel so Titanium hammers can be lighter than steel ones, my 10oz Stiletto is supposedly equivalent to a 16oz steel...

    Christmas Gift Ideas!!

I generally treat myself to something at birthdays and Christmas, examples of past presents to myself are a 6" Starrett combination square (often half price around now on Amazon), ISOtunes lite hearing protection and a Stiletto hammer. @petermillard normally does a gift ideas video around now...

Mitre saw blade choice for hardwood

I use a 60 tooth blade from Saxton in my mitre saw for everything from cutting up firewood to fine joinery, cheap blades but I've always found the quality of the cut to be fine...

    pre mixed lime mortar ?

I've used the lime mortar in tubs before, think I got it from here https://www.womersleys.co.uk/ looks like they even sell it on Amazon now. They do a stone repair mix which looks interesting. I know this will offend some but a builder I know has a mix he uses to imitate lime mortar if needed...

    Integrated Fridge Door Sliders

Think it would help if you could get a screw through the empty hole in the part on the left, you might need to glue a packing piece to the back of the door panel to achieve this? Edit to say this probably won't help if it's just popping out as soon as you pull the door open leaving the fridge...

    Fitting under counter wine chiller?

@Distinterior thank you for that, really helpful as always (y) I don't do many kitchens but when I do find it's handy to get the appliances first so you can hopefully spot any potential problems. I'm making the cabinets and doors so it's not a problem to give a bit of extra room for the...

    Fitting under counter wine chiller?

I'm building a kitchen island for a customer which will incorporate an under counter wine fridge/store (Siemens iQ 500). The installation instructions say it fits in a 600mm wide opening which sounds right as the fridge is about 595 wide but the problem I see is that as the door is opened the...

Paint spec for renovated sash windows

@markturner I have used the solvent based Dulux Trade Weathershield system quite often and found it good, the flexible undercoat is rated highly by some decorators I know. I do generally avoid the Preserver Primer though as it's water based and raises the grain, I prefer to use their Aluminium...

    Panelling an old boiler room

I had to make some Bead and Butt panelling out of MDF a while ago and asked a similar question, link here with a few different solutions mentioned https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/making-bead-and-butt-mdf.144612/ And this is the job it was for which sounds similar to what you are doing, in...

    Buying a second hand Sedgwick

I have the same planer as that but in 3 phase, it is a solid old workhorse which is a good and bad thing. With it being old (40+ years?) it is solid and dependable but lacks finesse, it wasn't really designed with things like dust extraction in mind. My worry would be that it's maybe a bit...

    Making my own kitchen 😥🤞

You need the right kit to work with MFC and I'm afraid a Dewalt table saw isn't ideal, you really need a sliding panel saw with scoring blade or a good MFT/track saw type set up. I'm building a kitchen for a customer and have been buying in ready made MFC carcasses to make things quicker and...

    Dusty Boys floor protection?

Thanks for all the suggestions. @Ollie78 I'm liking the sound of the Cordura style cloth, sounds perfect for what I want. I'll get a few metres of it and see how it goes (y)

Axminster AW106PT2 Planer Thicknesser Setup Question

You can generally adjust the roller height and pressure but 2mm below the cutting circle is about right for both the in and out feed rollers (y)

    Dusty Boys floor protection?

Thinking of getting some of these mats for protecting the floors in customers houses, not cheap but look like a decent product. Before I part with my cash just thought I would ask if anyone has used them or what alternative products people are using? https://dustyboys.co.uk/

Paint spec for renovated sash windows

I tried the Bedec MSP and found it very thin, it needed multiple coats although this was in white and I think most modern white paints suffer from this. That was brushing on, not spraying though.
