So with drill run outs is it normally the chuck at fault? I've seen videos where they change the chuck to a £90 one and it improves it. I haven't measured for run out but I tried the 2mm drill bit shank in the hole and it was fine

Thanks the lining up to the hole isn't a problem as I will use a notched metal plate/jig stuck to the piece of timber and have a fixed pin to allow the piece to be moved to the next hole.

With it been 100mm hose it does take some pulling to get it to its full length. So not usable at that length. Maybe if they give 2 measurements it would help when deciding how much you would need
