    CCTV, workshop security

Anyone have any experience of cctv. The cameras keep blacking out! Restore is done unconnecting and reconnecting power supply at camera, jack plug. One 1amp, 12v dc, power supply unit feeds two swann cameras and with just one camera being lost, in the paired units of 8, I am thinking it is a...

    Drummond lathe

Check out UK lathes, from memory this is where I found a gear cutting specialist. I had drummond, £60 back in 2000, and this, very knowledgeable, chap cut the two missing gears to make the complete set. Twenty years ago now but may be worth contacting Uk lathes, Tony from memory.

the bearing caps have a grease groove, seen in photo, just fill that with grease as too the bearings. Oil, not too much only to cover tooth of cog as designed spray up and around.

    Dominion DAA spec queries

All whitworth. Gearbox, no seals so the oil does tend to leak out. Fill just to tooth root of smallest cog as it all gets sprayed around when fired up. Any gear oil will do the gob. Chain, free play to accomodate the movement on pressure rollers, does not mean its worn. Certainly not worth...

    What are these please?

my guess extension bars but for what, no idea! Could be a breaker, concrete, The hex appears to have a groove, a holding pin to female chuck. The wider end I reckon is tapered inside, the loose pins are the drivers, go through hole, to release the taper tool. Any name on tool or plastic tube?

Arcing universal (brushed AC) electric motors

what is the application? Woodwork dust is a pain and gets clogged in motors. Routers and saws, I had 80v leaking from field to casing causing a shock. Stripped it down and the housing was packed with dust. I blow out all my motors now with an air line after use. Excess heat generated from that...

    Naerok mill - cutting out

looks like a bit of damage to motor fan housing. I would remove the belt cover and motor drive belt to check free play of motor or noise from fan hitting that cover. Single cap or twin, could be a failing run capacitor. I guess original motor? Does the motor get hot?

    Naerok mill - cutting out

may be worth checking tightness of all terminal screws. Cheapest option at first, starter, as motor for that just might not be off the shelf and spare starter may be handy for something else. Does the motor get hot or smell? Does the rotation slow? Can you lube up the bearings?
