    THE FOURTH OF JULY

It's a requirement. It's not up to the poll clerk, they're simply following orders...

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

You can say what you like, but it was only introduced by the Tories because they hoped it would reduce the number of young people voting. The odious Mogg as good as admitted this after the recent by-elections. Polling cards, on the other hand, speed up the process no end, but many voters don't...

    Impressive or what!

Well don't wear a boiler suit. Are they call boiler suits because they're really hot to wear, or because they were worn by people working on/in/with boilers?

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

Indeed. I wasn't in favour of the photo ID requirement. I actually wrote to my erstwhile MP about it, as there was, as far as I know, no evidence of significant fraud. It was introduced to try and benefit the Tories, but backfired at the last by-elections.

    Are you a farmer?

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

I was only aware of two people turning up without valid ID, and they both went home and fetched it.

    Impressive or what!

Ploughing is going out of fashion anyway. Apparently it's very bad for the soil.

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

I've done my civic duty too - working at a polling station from 6:30 to 22:30. Long day, but interesting.

    THE FOURTH OF JULY

Have you ever actually met any of these immigrants? The ones I've met lived in a "hotel" that was previously closed, and will probably soon be demolished. They ate their meals in their rooms from plastic takeaway style containers. Their pocket money came to £8 a week and the only phones they...

What? Labour want to clear the NHS backlog? Eff that! I'm voting for Richi..

    Joke Thread 4 (closed).

Pathetic. Female "bathrooms" have individual stalls, with lockable doors. If the ***** driver of this pickup seriously thinks anyone would "identify" as a different gender, simply to listen to his daughter or wife pee, then he obviously lives in a world without the internet. Still, at least you...

Are you after the flickering effect, like the video clip you posted?

    Calor gas bottles for barbecue.

Ah! OK. That's a bit nearer than Stroud. The Wild Goose filling station in Dursley is owned by John Stayte, but I think they stopped selling propane a couple of years back.

    Calor gas bottles for barbecue.

OK, I know the John Stayte in Stroud, near Travis Perkins. Is that Eastcombe?

    Old nails

I've gone the improvised hole saw route in the past - used a stainless steel drinking straw, but it wasn't totally successful. If you go that way, I'd recommend drilling a guide hole of the right diameter in a scrap of wood to stop the drill wandering all over the place.

    Calor gas bottles for barbecue.

Valve fits, barbecue worked, sausages and hamburgers cooked and eaten. Bit slow, cooking wise, but the advantage of a fairly small barbecue is that I can get the grills, the burner covers and the drip tray in the dishwasher. Bargain at 69.99, even if I have to replace the burner covers for SS...

    LED advice needed

The voltage you need for an LED depends on the colour, red are about 1.6 volts, green and blue are higher. White, IIRC, are also higher, as white light has a blue component. LEDs also need a current limiting resistor (or another method of controlling the current, but let's keep it simple). Some...
