    Hardpoint saws vs resharpenable

I bought a couple of Spear & Jackson "Traditional" Handsaws. One for cross cut and one for rip. I've been using them for a few months. Recently I had to cut though some old wood that I thought probably had some nails in it, so I used a Bahco hardpoint that had previously been my main saw, but...

    Camvac worth the money?

    No I didn't. I'll give that a try.

    Camvac worth the money?

I have to agree with this. I got my Camvac as part of another purchase. I'd been thinking about getting one for a while. Unfortunately, one of the motors wasn't working. I was underwhelmed with the Camvac in its one motor mode and was glad I hadn't spent a lot to get it. My cheap shop vac had...

Excel/Lumberjack 1500w router table problem, Lift lock poorly working

I would suggest getting a refund while you can. If it doesn't work this early in your ownership then it is very unlikely that it will be a satisfying purchase. If you send it back straightaway you can get a refund. Start tinkering with it and trying to fix it, and the result will be something...

Using an impact Driver for Screwing?

I still have one. It's got me out of quite a few tight places (pun accidental, but I like it). The wide body alone can make it more effective for getting tight screws out, but the strike of a hammer add that extra umph to both turn and push into the head.

    Moxon vice cost?

I have one of the WDS Component Moxon Vice kits. The part quality is good IMO, though I have to admit to have not used them yet (on my TODO list). Other kits look to have wheels rather than the Double Ball Handles in the kit, and accessories such as adhesive backed leather for the jaws. But I...

And ... what did you use to sharpen them? They've got a lovely finish that I think I'd struggle to maintain with my current stones.

    Hard and Exotic wood suppliers

Here are some websites for saw mills near you (or near than Cardiff I think). I've not used any of them. I've just been saving a list for future projects: Rosewood Sawmills Gloucester Wood Recycling https://www.timbersource.co.uk/ Whitney Sawmills Home | Hillbarn Sawmills

    Mini compressor - Senco 5ltr, 0.5hp

I've recently purchased the Senco AC4504 Compressor & FinishPro Pneumatic Nailer 18Mg. It's more expensive than other options mentions here, but I think is a good deal when you look at the quality of the nailer that is included in the package. I've only used it for one small job (fixing slats to...

    Workshop lighting advice

Following seeing a Peter Millard video I fitted three of these panels in my work space and it was one of my best decisions. The light is excellent. I often get the reaction that people think I have a skylight in my garage. They're surprised that the light from panels can be so much like natural...
