    Veneer vacuum press advice

There ia another option if you have an air compressor, bigger than a little nail gun type. A Venturi vacuum generator. It uses the compressed air flowing through a venturi to draw the air out of your vacuum bag. There are small ones that use as little as .5 CFM to draw from 25 to as much as...

    Dining tabletop board selection

This kind of attachment doesn't take up much space. You use a forester bit to make a shallow recess for them in the rail. This kind don't take up a lot of room either. If you have a biscuit machine they make cutting the slot easy. Sourcing them on your side should be easy. I would suggest...

    paraffin Heater

Curious. How are you going to deal with the increased moisture or is it vented out of the shop? Pete

    Mr Venty ECO2 wall filters.

I suppose if you want to keep the house from getting mouldy getting the renter a dehumidifier might be a good temporary measure, assuming they can be trusted to dump the condensate regularly and or rebate them a little off of the heating bill while it is very cold so they keep the place warmer...

    Raised Planters.

Unless your landscape fabrics are waterproof, unlike ours that let water through but not roots, I don't understand how they would be of help. I made raised garden beds for our garden vegetables out of pressure treated 2x4 and pressure treated 3/4" plywood. They sit on the ground and are 2' high...

    Mr Venty ECO2 wall filters.

A search of that unit found a maintenance manual that said there are conical filters in the duct that should be cleaned every 24 to 36 months, by vacuuming out or washing by hand. If the filters are not shot you should be able to clean them up and put them back in again. I have no idea where you...

    Workshop Insurance.

Who owns the property it is on? Perhaps that insurance company will insure it or it could be added to the owners policy with you paying the difference. Pete

    New Charnwood drum sander

If you need to go thinner put the piece on a sheet of plywood. Stick it down with 2 sided tape or glue a ledge to the end of the plywood for the piece to push against. Permission or approval from SWMBO is way beyond my pay grade. Pete

    Trend Overhead Router stand upgrade

Probably not the best solution but have you given any thought to having the plastic brush caps 3D printed? You could get a mitt full made at one time and treat them as a throw away. Perhaps I don't have a grasp of what they look like and a printed one won't work. Pete

    Thoughts on this project

I would get some rosewood or similar, make a new top and tell her that you butchered it up getting the elephants out so you made her a new one. You could also tell her the wood is on the Cites list (even if it isn't) and is unethical too so you made a new top out of walnut. Keep the top for...

    New Charnwood drum sander

I think Spectric is referring to the flex in the machine. The flex resulting in mismatch between the left and right side passes and something of a "hump" in the middle. Pete

Let's discuss furniture design and fine work

Molynoox my father was a Dane that apprenticed to a wagon maker in 1935 before going into furniture factories. He said at that time architects and furniture designers had to do a year on construction sites or making furniture as part of their university schooling. It was to teach them to design...

    Long plywood kitchen cabinets

You should look into pre-finished plywood or veneered chipboard/MDF for the carcasses. Many shops use it here because it saves time and the interiors are a nice maple or birch. Biscuits are designed for this kind of work if you have one use it. If not screws (or even brad nails) and glue are...

    Citabria Pro

I thought of laser cut sheet metal with your logo but as you make them to suit the display attitude the owner asks for, it wouldn't work. Having custom ones for each model would be too expensive. More head scratching needed. 🤔 Pete

    Citabria Pro

That's because they were fabric sewed and doped over the welded tube frame. It is a common construction of many fabric covered light aircraft. I would expect the same occurred on European light aircraft too. Pete
