    Interesting plastic drilling

You have to work with what you’ve got but I always avoid Acrylic. PETG is much nicer to work with.

    Woodturning Tools

On impulse I bought a Crown Cryo M42 Razor Edge 3/8” spindle gouge some years ago. It doesn’t seem to hold an edge any longer than my Henry Taylor of the same size, and is certainly not any nicer to use.

    Tapping (die-ing) helper

Being plastic I can’t see it lasting very long? You used to be able to buy die stocks with an adjustable guide but I found they didn’t work very well. These though are brilliant, I have three different sizes. The HSS die is molded into a plastic stock with a metal guide bush. They work very well.

    Electric vehicles

I specifically said the Tesla Cybercab. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Tesla-may-test-CyberCab-service-and-Robotaxi-in-China-as-it-buys-a-boatload-of-LiDARs.835202.0.html#:~:text=This%20sounds%20more%20like%20the,budding%20autonomous%20driving%20systems%20there.

    Electric vehicles

This is apparently part of Elon Musks plan. Tesla is not expected to produce vehicles for private ownership for the long term. Their first Cybercab is due for release next year I think. China being the first country most likely to adopt them. I’m not sure how common they are over there but there...

    Electric vehicles

When it comes to flats, those that choose to live in expensive ones often have their own underground parking, which will, I’m sure, increasingly have charging facilities. From what I’ve read, those that live in social housing high rises often don’t even drive or can’t afford a car anyway. I...

    Electric vehicles

The unacceptable (for some) truth is that if Electric Cars entirely replace ICE vehicles then at some point no one will need to worry about charging. Hailing a cybercab on your phone will be very much cheaper per mile than owning a vehicle and a hell of a lot less hassle. This scenario was...

This is interesting. The Mobility Paradox. https://www.fleeteurope.com/en/financial-models/europe/features/mobility-paradox-more-cars-less-mileage?a=FJA05&t%5B0%5D=Fleet%20Management&t%5B1%5D=Shared%20Mobility&curl=1 I wonder if average mileage will go back up again as the cost of Electric...

    1 Million Kilometre Battery

Not the modern range of Lithium batteries used in EV’s. And certainly not the new sodium batteries.

    Parkinson’s

We already know that car exhaust fumes contribute to Lung Disease, Heart Disease and Dementia. Now it seems it may be linked to Parkinson’s. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-13856205/Doctors-environmental-cause-Parkinsons-young.html Everyone is entitled to clean air. About time...

No, they will still work but CBN is better for some materials. I saw a chart somewhere detailing the difference, I’ll try to find it.

I’ve also noticed many of the cheap ones are described as “CBN Diamond” you don’t know what you’re getting.

    Sharpening

I bought my Axminster Ultimate Edge some time ago when it was on special offer. I wouldn’t be without it now. Unlike the Pro Edge it’s variable speed and has forward and reverse. It’s great for removing a lot of steel if needed with a 60g belt, or putting a polished edge on my WT gouges with an...
