    Thoughts on this furniture repair

I don't reckon that's repairable long term beyond cosmetically. The design is short grainy imho. Whilst a beautiful and understated piece I think it's a bit badly designed. I would approach the company to see if a replacement Could be made.

Paint spec for renovated sash windows

Zinnser allcoat seems a decent drop but is very thin with poor cover. Ankerstuy make a filler primer that's a very thick product. It helps to build which is an area water based paints are bad at. Also I use coverstain thinned as a primer before water based as it stops the terrible grain raise...

For many years I've used a sprig gun...its like a stapler that shots stainless diamonds that half embed and hold the glass.

    Idigbo For External Garage Doors?

Redwood would be much much cheaper having pre made t and g. Making t and g consumes large quantities of wood. Random width stuff looks best and reduces waste

By all means use linseed paint. Water based tends to raise the grain forever then is thin and hard to sand and the top coats are transparent. But it's quite flexible if prone to adhesion issues.

Paint spec for renovated sash windows

This is a very individual opinion so here goes. Oil based is best on pine especially old rough pine. Stick with oil based right through. The system is knotting, primer, undercoat, undercoat , gloss. In order 1.knotting patent thick knotting or 2 coats of bin. Do not sand. Just around knots of...

1/4 inch router bit for mortises

I think it's a bit under powered for this task. It will tend to chew its own chips. I you wanna try then take it very slow and not to deep.

Furniture makers, how do you get your customers?

I urge anyone to simply have a go. Life's to short to dip your toe in and go off half cocked. You will gain immeasurably in experience and knowledge. (If not money!))

    Do you sell your stuff?

Hobby workers unsurprisingly make the same product(or similar) what then happens is some work for nowt. That then devalues every other "hobby" item. Think outside the box. I have little joy with etsy tbh. But ebay is universal...every strata is on there. From homeless to millionaire.

    Oak front door

I would suggest not leaping straight in with a front door. Creep up on it gently. Maybe a ledge and brace. Fitting a door is also quite technical. Make 3 or 4 doors and frames minimum before making a hardwood door to iron out how you make long offset tenons 4inch through mortices and...

Axminster Tools Warrington & Newcastle CLOSURES.

I loved going to Warrington years ago. But they made themselves expensive(in the market) at one time I wouldn't really consider anywhere else now I wouldn't consider axminster unless it was a unique product. I haven't visited the store in several years. interesting it was the northern stores...

Spindle Moulder Tooling for Sash Windows

To me the meeting rail joints are quite confusing especially the Georgian ones with no horns. These have a sort of comb dovetail. I've seen several windows with top and bottom horns as well.

    Reproducing an old bow window

There was a kilo of filler in one section! The main damage was caused by pesky wood wasps. They literally pulverised the wood.
