    Table saw blade help please.

I asked Axminster and apparently due to the angle of the teeth the blade can only be used for crosscut. Shame it isn't labelled crosscut like some of the other blades which would help us novices.

    Table saw blade help please.

I am in the process of getting the 10" Axminster table saw when it comes back in stock. I also ordered and have just received an 80T extra fine blade which I was thinking of using to cut the rebate for aquamac seals for window frames. I am a novice woodworker and have just noticed that on the...

Spindle Moulder or Router tooling to create bead and T&G

Many thanks Blackrodd, searching for bead and butt comes up with the right moulding. I was unsure of the terminology for this profile. It looks like I should contact some spindle moulder tooling firms to see what they suggest.

Spindle Moulder or Router tooling to create bead and T&G

And is there any tooling to make the bead please? I was wondering if there was a spindle cutter that could produce the angle, the bead and one side of the tongue all in one go?

Spindle Moulder or Router tooling to create bead and T&G

I need to repair some plank doors and panelling which is fairly similar to the drawing on this website. http://www.jastimber.co.uk/reed-and-bea ... r-cladding. My planks drop at a right angle before the bead not at the 45 degree angle shown above. I have a router and a spindle moulder but can't...

    scroll saw novice

I was just about to post about Lidl having a scroll saw next Thursday the 18th and was it comparable to others at around the £100 mark, but it isn't on the offers page anymore! I was wondering whether I would use one but it seems to have gone into the Bermuda Triangle.

Which size morticer chisel for glazing bars?

Many thanks for all the replies. I have just ordered two good quality chisels so I won't be able to afford to eat for the next few weeks! :(

Which size morticer chisel for glazing bars?

Many thanks for the photos. As I said earlier I find drawings very hard to visualise. The top end of the glazing bar at the top of the second picture explains it for me, many thanks!

Which size morticer chisel for glazing bars?

I am unsure whether to make a mortice across the full 13mm of the 13mm flat of the ovolo. Edit I have just found this thread with a drawing that explains it to me. georgian-glazing-bars-t42385.html

Which size morticer chisel for glazing bars?

I didn't explain myself very well. I am unsure about the point at where the vertical and horizontal glazing bars cross on a georgian style window and there is little wood to play with rather than where the bar goes into the casement frame. The 13mm "flat" from the ovolo will obviously be the...

Which size morticer chisel for glazing bars?

I am thinking of using Wealden spindle cutter profile 263 http://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/Onl ... __585.html to produce some glazing bars for georgian style windows. I am finding the concept of scribing (with cutter 264) the vertical glazing bars hard to visualise when looking at drawings...

How to connect Lidl 36mm vac to 100mm outlets?

Many thanks for the replies. I have just unscrewed the hose from the main body of the vac and the thread that is left is around 63mm so I am wondering if I can get a 63mm hose to screw on instead to avoid a bodge which might damage the thread. Thanks for the mention for the camvac site. They...

How to connect Lidl 36mm vac to 100mm outlets?

I assumed that I could just buy some form of adapter to go from my 36mm Lidl wet and dry vac to connect to 100mm outlets but I have spent a while looking at the Axminster site and can't see how it can be done. So any help would be very gratefully received. Cheers

Charnwood W030 s/moulder (and similar) owners help please

I am thinking of buying the Charnwood W030 spindle moulder as my first s/m machine. I have read through as many threads about tooling as I can find but would welcome some help please. I would be keen to know what are the maximum diameter steel and aluminium blocks that other owners have been...

Morticers, Axminster MT25 or Scheppach HCM25 advice please

I am looking for my first morticer and am considering the Axminster MT25 and Scheppach HCM25. The Axminster says that it is trade rated and is on offer but still is around £100 more than the Scheppach. Some of the specs look similar, both 750w, 25mm in softwood but Axminster Max Height of...
