    Most of the heat will go through the roof what have you done to address this. All so if the 25mm insulation in the walls is fitted tight with no gaps or gaps are foam filled whats the problem your insulated.

    The arcing will have overheated the armature and caused the solder to melt and could have been spun off . Brushes are not expensive and you can make the wrong size fit by cutting ,just to see if it will run ok having cleaned the armature segments.If not new armature and brushes .

    Its a safety feature to stop a slack nut flying off .You loosen it twice so that it is properly slack if it still sticks then a slight tap side ways or on the end (not the sharp part) will get it loose

    Current rating :- approx 4.2 amps equals a kW. also 746 watts equals a horse power so you can calc kW for the above TLC calc. You can Google current rating, how the cable is installed and there for its ability to loose heat is a factor on current rating.
