    What's the best way to make mitred joins for keepsake box?

    Hi, having just purchased a mitre saw I thought I'd make a small box this weekend with mitred corners. However this got me thinking what is the best way to cut accurate mitred joints? with the saw vertical but at a 45 degree mitre angle - with the timber face against the fence with the saw...

    I'd like to thank everyone for their valuable time in responding. Just thought I'd update you - I found a (practically new, still in its box!) Makita LS1019L on ebay for £270. Its soooo AWESOME!! A bit past the budget I set myself but I don't think its ever been used and at less than half price...

    Spectric, I'm definitely asking for to much. I want my cake AND I want to eat it 🤣 Just can't justify the cost of those premium brands. I wonder with the criteria of forward facing rails, is there anything decent for less than £400?
