Festool midi to Dust Commander connectors

Whilst I'm grateful for the kind response, I've been through the process, ordered fitting for the Festool connections before and wasted my money as nothing has ever fitted as expected. So I was hoping someone may have the exact same setup and could recommend specific fittings / connectors.

Festool midi to Dust Commander connectors

I have a Festool midi and - some time ago - purchased a Dust Commander S30. I'm now trying to hook them up and the connections are doing my head in. Can anyone recommend exactly what connectors I need to get this going (and ideally a shop to buy them from !). Dust Commander have a ready made...

    To insult a woodworker.

    Dealing with freshly felled timber

No these would be rounds, like Alex has shown in his photo below. So I'd get around 10 or so rounds out of a 60cm ish trunk, 3 large trunks. Having spent over £500 with my hardwood supplier for what appears to be a miserly amount of wood now its in my workshop last weekend and having seen the...

    Dealing with freshly felled timber

A colleague has offered me a number of freshly-felled Beech trunks of approx 42cm diameter and 62cm lengths. I realise that it'll be years before this is useable, but I'm thinking of having them cut up and storing in my workshop for future use. So.. my thoughts are to ask a local tree surgeon...

    What constitutes 'handmade' ?

I read an article that states that there is no legal definition of 'handmade" in the UK. As far as Etsy is concerned, everything made and/or designed by you, the business owner, can be listed as hand made.

    What constitutes 'handmade' ?

Genuine question and I'm not expecting a definitive answer.. just thoughts and discussion. Is it a question of power tools used in the creation of the piece.. ? If so, presumably a drill is OK but a CNC isn't? Or it is question of what percentage of the process was done by hand ? Or is there...

    Cupping wood

As a relative newbie to woodworking and a very newbie to inlays that's very interesting and helpful - thank you.

    Cupping wood

They tend to go straight out the door as soon as they're finished, but here's one in progress. Just to clarify.. I use my own designs for the inlays - this one is for our own use and the Betty Boop image is no longer copyrighted or trademarked. And.. I know that the grain of the inlay is...

    Cupping wood

In answer to 'why so deep', I create the inlays (inlaid into hardwoods) using a CNC using Vcarving. Many of the inlays are very intricate and as such I've found that anything less than around 4mm doesn't carve / inlay properly using that technique.

    Cupping wood

Thanks for your comments. I'm less worried about the inlays themselves (most of my pieces are 40mm deep with 4-6mm inlays) and more to do with the cutting of those inlay pieces. I'm cutting complex pieces on a CNC machine so the source wood needs to be flat.

    Cupping wood

I've started to play with inlays using hardwoods such as Purple Heart, Padauk and mostly Walnut. To-date I've been cutting down (thickish) off-cuts but I need to order some more stock, so I'm looking at 12mm thick stock, which suits me as my inlays are never deeper than 7mm. On the suppliers...
