I am putting together a table of timber yards, with information from members who have actually visited the yards. Can you please help with information about Taunton Timber?

Are they hobby friendly?

Can you self-select or is it by appointment?

Will they deliver?

Do they have online ordering?

Are prices displayed at the yard?

Do they sell domestic hardwoods?

Do they sell other hardwoods?

Do they sell softwoods?

Do they sell manufactured boards?

Do they sell turning blanks?

Are they a one-man-band or a small, medium or large yard?

Will they cut to length to fit in your vehicle?

Do you have any comments?

very, they have ready made hobby packs for about a fiver with good amount and selection of different hardwoods.

Can you self-select or is it by appointment?
self select

Will they deliver?
locally for a cost

Do they have online ordering?
no

Are prices displayed at the yard?
mostly

Do they sell domestic hardwoods?
yes

Do they sell other hardwoods?
yes

Do they sell softwoods?
yes

Do they sell manufactured boards?
yes

Do they sell turning blanks?
not pre-cut bowl blanks but all sorts of timber that can be made into such

Are they a one-man-band or a small, medium or large yard?
Small yard with very friendly brother and sister team.

Will they cut to length to fit in your vehicle?
they will give you a saw!

Do you have any comments?
Very friendly small yard packed with a great selection, from garden timbers all the way up to rare hardwoods. They get a lot of stuff from auction it seems so theres always something new to see. But theres pretty much everything a carpenter needs all at very good prices. Well worth a visit if in taunton or surrounding areas.

HAH! i know the landlord of that estate. Havent been down there for many years now. Didnt know that place was there. I shall have to pop in when I'm there in december.
