A Wood Haven
About 2 Christmases ago I copied Lord Nibbos brilliant design for a ABW lamp. Got my second one finished off today. I hand preped all material, a first for me as this is my first hardwood project without a P/T. I'd rather do it with a P/T thats for sure!

I had some real problems with the gorilla glue so I was annoyed and not taking photos so excuse the missing link of photos. I got the shade and lamp from Homebase on their half price weekend all for £7.

very nice Chems. Must do one of these oneday

Yes indeedy...

I like the view of the cabinet too.
Walnut and pine is not a combo I would have thought of, but it works!

Nice one Chems.

John :)

Thanks :D

Didn't know if pine and walnut would go but its all I had in stock! Worked really well, especially unfinished I like it a lot. Theres a lot of making in these little lamps suprisingly.

To right Olly, seems everything else comes first! Next project is a fancy new outfeed table which will be for me. Then the bench. :)

Superb! I missed this thread.

That 5 1/2 can really cut the mustard (or ABW)

Do the corners of the blade still protrude out before the middle? Is it an issue?

I have check my 4 1/2 and it does the same. I noticed the back of the blade needs some work so I'll set to that this evening.

Great lamp.

I haven't sorted out the chip breaker yet. Waiting on BSM to see if he has one in that collection of parts he bought before I fork out for a new one. The 5 1/2 does the job ok but the No4 was the real work horse of the job. And as the parts are smaller I didn't need the extra length of the 5 1/2 once I'd got it roughly smoothed and cut to size.

I think the big diffrence in the top brands must be edge holding, mine go blunt and chipped very quick I've noticed.
