Anyone know 'owt about JCB's 1500 watt router?
My local Focus/Do It All are offering them at £34.99!
I handled the demo one and it had a nice balance and the depth control was one of the best I've seen.

The plunge springs are rather fierce on mine and there is an annoying bit of play as I plunge it (watch out when making repeated cuts down the same line). Like you, I did like the multi position depth stop and the depth adjuster though. I got limited use out of mine before I bought the little Triton so can't comment on long term reliability.

It also appears branded as SIP, Nutool and a few others.

Aren't a lot of Focus stores supposed to be closing down soon too?

So I hear. My local appears to have sold out of the JCB with just the demo model on display, and sombebody has nicked the collet. I'll go back tomorrow and check the points you mention, and if they aren't having more in I'll offer them £20, they can only direct me to the exit after all!

JCB Power tools is/was one of the many brands in the Alba Bush Group.
The idea was to source and spec JCB to a level above the Power Devil brand also owned by the group.
Power Devil as entry point range and JCB as mid point.
All out of China from various factories and some of the range is actually pretty good.

Travis Perkins has bought 7 sites to be branded as wickes and Home Retail have bought 24 to be branded Homebase. The rest will be closed or refurbished according to Cerebus the equity group who now own them.
