After spending my Sunday morning reorganizing the layout of my current workshop i thought i should post a few photos.

A view along the workshop, as you can see it is a lean to to a larger tin shed. (From left to right) bench, Multico bandsaw, Startrite table saw, trend router table with a little dewalt underneath, Dustraxtion dust collector, Dewalt radial arm saw and finally other bench, tool cabinet and storage.

Heres my bench, big record QR vice fitted is handy. hoping to get a old Emir or make a new bench for my new workshop.

Table saw and bandsaw, i'm looking into getting some longer fence rails for my TS, but a £38+ vat each :-k im undecided.

Dust collector and Radial arm saw, dust collector works great with the dust hood i made for the saw.

Other bench, for sharpening, storage etc. what lovely doors on those kitchen cabinets .

Powertool storage.

And finally, tool cabinet, just a few planes..., i have a load of tenon saws as well 8)

Well thats it, thanks for looking.

That looks very well laid out and rather comfortable John-Henry, thanks for sharing. I do like the extraction hood on your RAS as well - possibly the best one I've seen (it looks very effective). :)

Thanks for the tour John-Henry. NOW I know what to do with tools I've got, re hanging on the wall, lovely ideas.

Just wishing I'd got that much space, tooling, oh, and planes!

Great space, how big is it ? Wondering if my new one is going to be big enough :-k , maybe a small extension will be in order once mr planner has buggered off :-$

I'm sure I saw a radio like that in an 80s rap video a while back.....

Fantastic workshop though - loads of space!

interesting tool in the storage cupboard.. bottom center... never seem one of those. what they for and are they expensive...?

On the floor next to your Startrite table saw... Is that an emergency stop button or a foot brake to make the machine HSE-compliant?

I have one of those!
I think thery are commonly known as an iron, pronounced in the same way as those you see on planes but for a differnt purpose. Actually it might be for a similar purpose, smoothing stuff. But unlike a plane you have to plug it in and it heats up.
They are used for heating and flattening veneers, when using animal glue, so that the veneer hammer can sqeeze the glue out.

Also if you have a bruise on your timber placing a damp cloth over the bruise and then the iron on top will help lift the bruise.

I believe some people have noticed that the above process also produced a smooth, flat and dry cloth, as well as bruise free timber, and have taken to using the iron on their clothing!
What next I wonder? Cutting bread on the band saw?

While I can cut bread straight, LOML can't and I have suggested the band saw could be the best solution for getting nice neat slices. :-k

Nice spacious workshop JH...but that's only a moderate collection of planes compared to some around here  - Rob

Looks a lovely well laid out workshop..I,ll be interested how big it is as well :D

Really like some of your tool storage solutions, mine tend to pile up in corners or on any flat surface

HSE?, whats that? :duno:

Its just a normal emergency stop button, i always use it to stop the saw. the saw came from a school and had it fitted already :D

The dust hood on the radial arm saw is Mrk 3
