I’ve spent the last few weeks, whenever time allowed, revamping my workshop and creating as much storage as I could squeeze in. It’s far from finished and probably never will be but at last I have a workbench set up once again and more cupboards and drawers than could be wished for.
Now have to sort out the rest of my "stuff", mainly stored in my other garage and sheds
It’s a roughly 6m x 5m double garage but a good 4 m high walls and is of Bradstone/cavity/block construction. Garage door is a problem and still needs to be draughtproofed as I need to keep it but at least it’s double skinned glassfibre. The electric control gear is a pain but wouldn't be without it. The underside of the tiled roof need to be insulated at some stage as well but the room height makes it difficult to heat anyway so I compromise with a small heater when and where I need it.
Ancient school bench (subject of an earlier post) has now been tarted up, fitted with a Faithfull 9” vice (Record copy) on the front and the previous 7” Parkinson re-fitted as an end vice and danish oiled. I haven’t yet drilled dog holes in the top.
I kept the useful sink area as I have a board sits on top where I use the Tormek when having a sharpening session.
I even have my own ablutions adjascent to the workhop which I incorporated into my recent extension. Centrally heated of course - what luxury
All I need to do now is sort out all the stuff I have, much of which is in my other garage and sheds then I can finally start making stuff
