I had a birthday recently and had bought Chris Schwarz's new book on Workbenches.

I have only delved into it but it makes fascinating reading about the theory and design of workbenches with lots of historic info. etc.
Plus lots of tips and methods for making benches and work holding and jigs.
Whose got a Planing Board or a Sticking Board - they are now on my list to do?

Rod :)

It does look good. There's a review in the latest issue of British Woodworking!

Cheers

Nick

Rod, or anyone else, how do you find it compares to Scott Landis' workbench book? I already have that one but I'm wondering what else there is Chris Schwarz's new book that would make it worth purchasing?

I don't think I've seen either of those books, but a nice one I received on my last birthday is The Workbench by Lon Schleining (The Taunton Press). Lots and lots of photos, most it seems from professional shops.
