It seems that someone was working on a bench design not too long ago. Hopefully they'll pipe up.

The design of a workbench is a very personal thing, in my opinion. While you will find features in other peoples designs that intrigue you, there won't necessarily be one 'bench design that suits you perfectly.
It's worth investing in a good book on the subject and browsing some of the American woodworking sites for ideas. Lord Nibbo made a cracking 'bench a couple of years ago; have a search in the Projects forum.
