were those cartridges re-load's 2 shillings each??
Last time I bought any (about 1978 or 9 it was about £1.50 for 25 Ely's 12g or 16g)
Just out of interest how much would you pay for 25 now?
Ps you could use glass beads or steel shot possibly?? Just a thought
cheers Jonathan
It is only intended for light use just tapping the chisel not whacking it so I think the Sapele will be OK. If not I can recycle the shot and make it out of something else.
Cartridges have gone up a fair bit over the last couple of years, I was paying £78/1000 then but they are now from £100/1000. If I buy a box of 25 at my club then they charge £3.
They arent as dear as I thought then!!
I must have been paying £60.00/1000 in 1978 mind that was only 25 at a time, cheaper in bulk. I used to do the trap house to pay for mine, or hay time. Trap hit me-once only-I'll never forget THAT, lucky I never broke my arm
My Dad used to get deals from someone in Hull, cheap polish cartridges we used them for pigeons and rabbits but they were dirty left the barrels reaaly grubby

Hi Martin, Nice ground Southern Counties. I shoot mainly Olympic Skeet so have to buy 24gm cartridges generally. The 28gm were from the last time I shot sporting(not very well!!). 83/100 is good, what make of cartridge? I use Express high velocity most of the time.
Johnboy,
I think they are No 7's not sure what make, possibly Winchester. Sounds like you take it seriously, I just keep my eye in for bunnies and pheasants with the .243 for bambi burgers! We are over run here with Sika deer so plenty of venison.
You would not believe the number of road kills I see, makes me want to open a diner like the one I saw in West Texas called The Road Kill Diner; their advertisng slogan was ' From your Grill to Ours!'
Regards
Martin
