Wood worm

hopefully not a concern but my workshop is an old farmers barn with some gnarly old miss match roofing Timbers. There was evidence of wood work when I moved in but nothing recent to my knowledge. I sprayed it all when doing the work and again about 2months ago. I was getting some ash off the rack today and noticed the there were loads of dead little black bugs on the top of it. Do these loom like wood work beetles of sorts or am I being paranoid! I have seen no shavings but it’s likely that’s little bugs could have called from the roof after I sprayed. I have seen no live ones but how worries should I be?

They appear to be flies. Certainly not furniture beetle.

Do these loom like wood work beetles of sorts or am I being paranoid!

Out of the 2 possibilities you give I would suggest the latter is the more likely
