If you reject all cookies on a site, the site can't place a cookie to say that you don't want cookies - so will keep asking you!
An alternative is to run sessions on the server which can reduce how often it does that, but ultimately if you say no to cookies you will continue to be asked whether you want to say no to cookies

I can appreciate that occurring next time I visit a site but for the current session the website should stop asking. For casual browsing I normally reject cookies on principle and rarely get this problem. If I'm going to do business with that site I will normally accept afew functional cookies

As per my original comment though - you can only do that through using server sessions...
when a browser connects to a server a server session is started which identifies that browser - storing a virtual cookie in that session allows you to avoid mulitple cookies in that browsing time... if you don't do that, but look to store the record on the computer, you can only do so as a cookie so it depends on how it is coded... in reality there is little legal requirement to have the pop ups anyway now, and the sooner they are removed the better - they were never strictly a legal requirement under EU law (the user has always had control over cookies through browser options), and even less so now we have left the EU - I am not aware of any legal case brought against a site for not using pop ups and they are very annoying!

I must say the first time I saw the Woodworkers workshop display at the woodworking show in Harrogate it changed my perception of wood working completely, what they had on display was a level of quality and precision that I had not realised existed in the world of woodworking but would not be out of place in my past life in metalworking.

We love the Harrogate Show, a great opportunity to meet customers and past students. Should have been there last weekend, fingers crossed to see you there next year Roy.

Possibly a daft question Peter but would I be able to pop in and have a look at something like the Mast-R-Lift II before purchasing? I'm only up the road. I don't know if you've actually got something akin to a showroom for the shop or not?

I bought Peter’s complete “ultimate bandsaw” series the other day as I recently acquired my first bandsaw. Very helpful in setting up the machine and lots of useful tips on maintenance and use. Highly recommended!

The bandsaw videos have been the biggest selling DVD/Download, such a useful machine and capable of so much more than just ripping or curved work. Thanks for your recommendation.

You are more welcome to come and take a look, I have four different router table set ups in my workshop. I would just ask you to email the sales team first to make an appointment. [email protected]

I am running a routing course next week so they will all be in use. Buying a router table is a fair investment so we are always keen happy to advise on the best setup for your own needs and seeing the quality in the flesh helps.

The showroom/shop has been closed over the pandemic so I can keep the staff as safe as possible, the workshop area is bigger and a bit more real world than the showroom.

Thanks for asking, our feeling was that the carving market is a bit specialised and catered for by others but who are carvers, although the tool shop was founded and still sells a lot of hand tools we are more known for our American and routing products.

Is there a gap in the market for the supply or carving tools? If so we would be happy to look at it. We have always sold Ashely Iles bevel edge chisels and assume their carving tools are of the same high quality, or are there other brands we should look at?

Pre-pandemic, I even visited the shop in person by prior arrangement and that was a great experience. Pre-sales and after-sales support is second to none. WWW supplies premium products that frequently involve a serious investment; I have been able to do so with the confidence that I will be taken care of.

Not sure if there's a gap in the market but it's more the Sabburr Tooth burrs I'm after. Some sizes and shapes you can get quite readily in this country online while others you can hardly get hold of over here

Thats very much like the Dura-grit sanding disks, you can get the little shaped cones etc but the actual disks for a ROS I have had to order from the states. It would be great if WWW stocked them, they are excellent for when you need 120g or less and very long lasting

A frustrating feature on the website is the continual pop-up cookies banner. "Rejecting all" option just causes it to re-appear

It's not just the WWWorkshop site - it's almost every site that has the pop-ups - and yes they keep reappearng (that's with Firefox, Edge and two Android browsers I have on my phone) There was something in the tech press a couple of weeks ago about preventing them (presumably it's all to do with the GDPR ogre?)

As above, how can a site know that you said no to cookies, unless it uses a cookie to record that fact, and you just stopped it doing that…

If you don’t want cookies, get a cookie manager extension from your browser, you can accept cookies, not have the pop-ups annoying you, and thrn auto-remove the cookies when you leave the site etc…
