hi alan
spent quite a bit of time on your site tonight, beautiful stuff indeed, couldn't let this post slip by without commenting.
I would dearly love some bespoke furniture in my home, but alas its a downstairs flat.
thank you

Would you be so kind and check out the following thread
https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/view ... 756#240756

Alan

Yes Alan, curiosity demanded that I should.

Picking up on some points made in that thread, may I
ask you to speak aloud (to yourself) the following quote from your website:

I hope to give prospective clients and visitors alike an idea, not only of the kind of furniture I design and make, but to also try to explain the type of service I provide and in doing so show the difference between bespoke handmade furniture and the high street alternative.

1st point ~ a comma is not usually used after a conjunction.
2ndpoint ~ any breath left?

Another quote from your site:

There is no comparison to a Saville Row suit that is perfectly tailored to fit each client, to what the high street can offer. The same goes for bespoke furniture which has been designed and made to the clients individual requirements.

I think I know what you intended to say but it doesn't 'read' well.

Unfortunately you have breached my boredom threshold with regard to checking your website for evidence of exacting standards.

I can only wish you luck with seeking a Turner who meets your exacting suitability criteria... based on what I have seen, of those standards, I refuse to diminish mine by offering my services.

For the record; my comments refer specifically to your attitude and acceptance of what I regard as questionable standards of the written word rather than your expertise in 'bespoke' furniture.

You could, of course, consider applying your talents to woodturning....

Just curious about your links page..."Help site's" ....err, help site's what?

Hi Team

First things first.

A few members have informed me that my spelling and grammar on my website leaves a lot to the imagination on this thread and other threads and rightly so, and I am the first to admit as I have said before in my threads that it is rubbish.

Of all the members who rightly so point out my errors only 2 or 3 have given any indication where I am going wrong. I don’t mind being told what I am doing wrong through constructive criticism but to criticize without giving advice surely is a waist of time and can be seen as criticizing for criticizing sake or in around about way having a go at some one.

Any way to all those members shown concern through constructive criticism and advice I say a very big thank you. One member in particular as taken me in hand and as kindly offered to proof read my website and point out my errors and so I have gracefully accepted this offer. So in the next few days there will be improvements made.

To get back on track I wish to thank those members who have thrown there cap in the ring, well its one member only who as thrown his cap into the ring and is not a million miles from my work shop. And so as a thank you I have put a link to this gentlemen’s website on my links page, this is a favour and does not have to be repaid. I would also like to thank those who have suggested members.
