Anybody know what all this is about? Got sent a wmv clip I need to watch and Window Media Player does not like it. Something about "couldn't find a file path" or some such thing.

TIA

Noel, who is a bit thick on these matters....

Can't help other than to suggest your media player is most uptodate version?

Adam

open media player click on Tools
click on options
click on file types
put a tick in the box next too windows media video file (wmv) (make sure the box is not grey)
click on apply
click on ok

try playing the video again

these instruction are for media player 10

No joy. I've re-installed WMP 10 a few times. Ticked all the boxes in the tools option. Tried Divx, but still nothing. Think I have all codecs that I need, but perhaps not. I can play every other sort but not wmv.
No idea what size the file is, but here's the source of it:

I have a couple of friends that are in the clip.

When I try to open the above link the screen freezes. Dang computers...

Hi Noel - I have Windows XP Home and MP10 - the link works fine.
Sat and watched the nearly 5 minutes of the clip - great to see so many MkII Escorts showing what a great rally car they were (and still are!)

Hope you get yours sorted so you get to watch it :D

Andrew

Thanks Andrew, I've XP Pro and WMP 10 and getting nothing. I guess it's something wrong on my system. But what? Very frustrating.
Agree with you, can't beat a Mk 11 totally flat to the mat.

I have XP Pro WMP 10 & the link play o.k.

Do you have nero? have you tried playing it in that?

Thanks for all your help. Re-installed WMP 10 again and bingo, all is well. Happy days.
